Question So what are the speaker sizes for a 2 door '00 impreza?

I have searched, but can not come up with one solid answer. Can someone enlighten me with the truth The stock paper speakers are finally done and I am looking to get some replacements. Probably infinity because my fiance works at circuit city and gets them at cost I just need something to hold me over until I get my focals.

Well, the fronts are 6.5", but depth is a concern. Not a lot of space. Some shallow speakers work, but most will need spacers. If you're handy with wood, it's not a big deal. I had someone else install mine, and he rigged up some decent spacers in about 45 minutes. Otherwise, most 5.25's will work.

For the rears, 6.5"s are fine, but depends on what you want. For me, rear is just fill, I have a sub for the low-end. I actually got the vendor I purchased from to throw in a set of 5.25's for free(decent CDT's), but I had spent a hefty sum of money already.
If you're going to get a sub in the future, and plan on external amplification(i'm assuming, unless you're joking about the Focals), then just get some small, basic two-ways. Enough to fill out, nothing more. Then, you can just keep them when you eventually upgrade the front stage and add a sub.

Thank you for your answers. I'm just going to get the 5.25 for the front and the 6.5s for the rear. I don't wamt to mess with cutting out spacers tonight. These will be running off of the stock head unit. I figure they will last until the summer when I will do the entire steroe. Eclipse hu, brax amp, focal seperates and image dynamic subs.

Like, I said, then, just get 5.25's for the rear. Do not get 6.5's. The extra money isn't worth it. You'll only need 5.25's for rear fill when you do the rest of your system. Some basic Infinity's will be fine. Save all the money you can, 6.5's will just be a waste.

well I picked up the infinity reference series. 5.25s for the front and 6.5s for the rear.. less then 80 bucks brand new couldnt pass it up. I just finished installing them and, they do sound nice.. well good enough to last me until summer for the price they are suprisingly accurate though. I believe the downfall is I am still running them through the stock head unit.

I used my old JL Audio speakers for the rear and they fit with a little squeezing. They are 5 x 7.
