Default Need Members' Help - Salvage Vehicle

Hi all, this is a long shot but I figured i might as well give it a try. I am located in Alberta Canada. I purchased an '06 STI from a member located in Manitoba Canada. He imported an '06 STI from California. The car was originally purchased in Irvine California. It was in an accident in Irvine, California and the accident was reported 07/21/06 on a California police report. The only thing the Carfax tells me is that the accident was with a fixed object and the airbag was deployed. The car was given a salvage title, but never issued a rebuilt title for whatever reason and changed hands a couple times in California before being imported into Canada. It was repaired in California but I don't know all the details. From what I have been able to gather from the fellow who imported it and Carfax, it required a new bumper, some driver side body panel work and a new airbag.

The fellow who imported it into Manitoba was able to register it there, with only an Out of Province inspection. However, when I tried to register it in Alberta it is coming up as a salvage vehicle, and needs a salvage inspection.

Long story short, is the more information I can find on the accident and repairs, the less I have to spend on the salvage inspection. Also, it would be nice to know a bit more history of the vehicle.

So, I was hoping for some ideas from SoCal members as to where I might be able to look/inquire about the accident, accident report, etc. State resources, municipal resources, etc.

Maybe even get lucky and have a member who knows about the car. I can post the VIN if that is helpful to anyone.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone might be able to offer.
