Post Some interesting facts about weight reduction

I happen to get my hands on an old WRX turbo header and uppipe. So, I slapped them on the scale and WHOOPA! I got 45lbs for both. Then, I tool my CUSCO tubular equal length exhaust manifold/uppipe combo and CHACHING! I got 25lbs. Now, the US WRX GDA comes with a cat in the uppipe so I wouldn't be surprised if the US WRX header/uppipe combo weights 50lbs. So, save your $ for the headers, people. Not only they will give you great power gains, it will also cut down 20-25lbs of nose weght.

In the next installment, I will be talking about stock WRX downpipe/catback weight vs. BOZZ Speed titanuim downpipe/catback.

The titanium downpipe/exhaust will be the way to go. Massive weight reduction as well as better heat dissipation.

That will be lots of cash for titanium parts like that.

Cool

I'm hoping it will be possible to get the WRX sedan (5 speed) below the 3000 pound mark without too much modding!

Sounds like the turbo header/exhaust system might be able to reach that goal alone with the appropriate replacement parts.

Yeah, that's about right.

Oh yeah, I also found a place in US that will make me a lightened and ballanced billet driveshaft for $400.
