Default Well... Goodbye NWIC. D:

It was fun, well, in 2009... And then I wasn't here anymore. Then I moved back, and the scene died... And kinda came back. And then I lost my WRX to a greedy bank (who actually screwed themselves on the deal, which I found to be ironic AF), and ended up with a NA Baja. It happened to have junkyard parts on the entire underside of the vehicle. The front tires would do the 'death wobble' thing, like some Fords, Chevys, and Jeeps, because so much garbage under the front end was bent.

And now I have a Baja Turbo. The underside of it is in better shape than the NA Baja, but the electrical, engine, and transmissions are in similar shape... D:

And now I'm moving away from the PNW.

Thank you, Southern Oregon. You can have all of your forest fire smoke, and keep it for yourselves. Your rainless, hot, miserable summers, snowless winters, gorgeous springtime, and mediocre autumn, it's all yours.

I don't think any of my old friends are on here anymore... I know NW OBS sold his sweet 2005 NA Impreza wagon, an NA car that was faster than my WRX was when it was stock...

Sad, I can't even remember the other's usernames. Maybe I just imagined my friends? Wouldn't be the first time...

The forums are a shell of what they used to be for sure. Everyone seems to prefer to whine, complain, and talk **** to others on facebook nowadays instead.

I don't know you, but I'll miss you. One day I'll get a '404 error page not found' when I try to login to nasioc, and this place will just be a memory.

Yeah, I don't use facebook, so thankfully I've stayed away from the newer drama I've heard about that seems to be rampant there.

Kinda sad, some of the forums I used back before 2010 are already gone. Others I just don't even log in on anymore.

When I still used facebook, there was a group called "PNW Subaru Enthusiasts" or something like that. It was decent. Mostly people in Portland and Seattle areas.

All the buy/sell/trade groups are cesspools though. If you post anything on there, fair price or not, people are going to talk **** and put their two cents in the comments. No one can just keep to themselves and be civil anymore it seems. The classifieds were the reason I didn't get off of facebook sooner, but eventually I had enough and left. It's unfortunate because there were way more parts for sale there than on the forums, and it was easy to find really good deals. there were also a lot of scammers on there though.

Yeah its pretty unfortunate. Nasioc, while no where near as good as it was a few years ago, still has more activity than many others. IWSTi is basically stagnant. Zilvia is the same. I got an RX-7 a couple years ago, and was surprised to find the forum rx7club.com still going pretty strong (given how many cars were produced compared to subarus). I guess that is probably because most owners are more old school over there and have owned their cars for many years.

No joke, just logged in for the first time since 2013. One page on NWIC for the whole year?!? Holy crap, used to do that in a day easy.

Most people will still give ya a wave - even out here. Seems to be all that's left of what it was. I did join the NWIC group on facebook, but I don't spend much time at all on FB...and, just looking at that group, it went stale too.

The old days... the really old days, well, they had probably just as much drama as the FB does.

Just a different time I guess.

Yeah, I'm with wraith on this. Never had a FB account, never will!

NWIC for life!

Once the weather comes together we should get a good old fashioned beach meet / bbq going!
