So we just picked up a Nameless CBE (working on making it TBE) but not sure what’s the best route to take.

I feel the COBB SF intake causes some lag in boost so an uppipe can help with that. I’ve also been reading that an EWG would also be beneficial - we want to eventually upgrade the turbo.

If we go catless dp, then we have to get an EWG uppipe right? And then obviously the wastegate.

Or would we fix the issue with a catted dp and a normal uppipe? We are looking to fix the lag and gain more power.

Any thoughts?
Justin did a EWG setup on his bugeye and I remember seeing an external wastegate on his uppipe so if you do go the EWG route then yes you would have to get an EWG uppipe and you would need the wastegate. I forgot what brand he used but I think invidia makes one. I don't like using grimmspeed because I don't trust the flex joint lasting too long.

With my old 04 STI, I went with borla UEL headers, invidia catless up pipe, and a cobb TBE and I believe the cobb downpipe was catted.

As for intakes, for a short ram, Anthony recommeded KSTech and it worked well for me.

I've read somewhere on nasioc that using a catless downpipe can cause boost creep but I'm not sure if thats been proven depending on parts you use or due to human error. If you get a hold of Anthony, he usually can recommend the parts or the better route.

Good to know, thanks! I’ll ask Anthony his thoughts on what we plan to use and what will work best. I still have the catted stock DP installed and I feel boost creep. I was thinking getting an EWG uppipe would fix that once I install a catless DP.

I have not, but I really haven’t heard anything bad about them, neither at Mastro. But just depends on what your looking to have done, like Bob is asking.

Just oil changes and the like while my drivetrain is under warranty, plus anything else that pops up, like the AC issue on my wife's car. I prefer to do all work myself, but within the warranty period I want all maintenance logged, so if something does go wrong, dealers can't claim I neglected the car.

I've had bad experiences at another shop recently. Four attempts to get something fixed, and not the first time, so I'm just checking out alternatives.

I hated calling Reeves. FWIW, Mastro has some of the best techs.
