Silver sleeper 2.0 introduction and journal
Hello Good members of NASIOC,
Just wanted to share a little bit about my car and keep a public journal for myself and anyone interested in the build. I'll probably be adding photos and other information about the car sporadically. My goal for the car was inspired by another user in which he took a blob eye and fine tuned almost every part of the car to make a powerful, understated daily able GD STi with lots of high quality parts. While I'm not even close to the level he was with his car I've gotten a lot done and plan to do more to achieve a similar level of quality and attention to detail in my own way. The car started life as a relatively stock 2007 limited STi only had an intake, EWG, TurboXS catless turbo back exhaust, TurboXS FMIC, Ebay strut tower bar, under body brace and some blown Apexi coilovers. Ive since done a lot of modifications myself but at a certain point i started experiencing significant knock and took it to GNG motorsports and they diagnosed it as a bent valve, i did the rational thing and had them rebuild the heads with 272 BC cams and GSC springs and retainers and go ahead and put a IAG stage 2.5 closed deck short block, so i (hopefully) wont have to open the block back up again.i have a detailed build list below. his car for reference: https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=1453087 interestingly if you google "STi limited 2007" a lot of the images you'll find are actually my exact car and that's due in part to performance auto gallery having my car up for sale from the previous owner and having a lot of really nice photos taken of it (sadly the CF front lip was destroyed buy the owner who ended up buying the car) and TurboXS actually writing a little article about it. both really neat things i think to find about your car after you buy it. Maintenance
Full bottom end replacement with IAG stage 2.5 closed deck short block and head rebuild. All the work done through GNG by Colin McCulley and Adam Meade. The following service and maintenance was done at that time.

Silver sleeper 2.0 introduction and journal
Timeline – year one
-June 6th 2019- I purchased the vehicle in South Charleston WV from a guy named Mathew who worked at ”Artistic Creations Tattoo” (I believe he’s since moved down to Florida). I guess that I’m the 3rd or 4th owner of the car, the owner before Mathew was the guy from the TurboXS article who lived up in Maryland, not sure if there was an owner before him or not. -June 14th 2019- Got rear ended on the way to a car show by a drunk dude (don’t drive drunk kids). The damage was pretty minor, I work at a body shop and made sure everything replaced was OEM right from our very own Colonial Subaru (thanks Dan). At That that time I trimmed the front bumper and fixed where the paint was cracking, fixed a small rust spot on the fender, and repainted the rear lip spoiler. -September 9th 2019- Purchased and paint matched a JDM GD Sti trunk lid and wing, kept the limited trunk as id go back to that eventually go back to that. -December 7th 2019- Surprise, surprise the 15-year-old apexi Coilovers are blown and seized, at this point, I decided to pick up some Teins because I had good luck with them on my 06 WRX and I got them on sale. Had them installed along with some cheapo tires because the nexens were dry rotted. Also had the rear wheel bearings replaced and a full alignment done. Even though I could not acquire the hood the original silver sleeper had (Car Service Hiro Battle Hawk Carbon Fiber Hood) I did purchase for $50 a 2007 Impreza hood off a friend of mine. Spent $150 in PDR and paint corrected it myself for a cool $200 it came out pretty nice especially with it being a completely different paint code, CGM whereas my cars paint is UGM.

Walbro 450 installed with a deatschwerks hardwire kit and a hanger passthrough for power and ground for the pump to bypass the OEM fuel pump harness connector.

There’s a lot of misleading information out there about it I’ll break it down pretty simply. The long red wire goes to your battery, the black wire goes to ground, the blue wire goes to the wire that is power to your fuel pump and will now act as the on switch for your relay, the yellow wire goes to power on your fuel pump. While your doing this I highly recommend doing a hanger pass though for your fuel pump power and ground. I achieved this with an ATL two wire bulkhead passthrough. If I had to do it again I would have gone with a stud with insulator style pass though as the ATL one was really too big and I had to make more modifications thank would have been needed if I had gone with the other style. P&L Motorsports sells a set for power and ground for $35 I would have gone that way if I had to do it over. If you don’t do a pass though the yellow wire gets connected to the pump side of the wire you cut for the blue wire from the relay. If you go the hanger bypass route just tape up that wire and you can just unplug the factory fuel pump wires from the in tank hanger harness as you won’t need them because you’ll be doing the wiring directly to the pump through the pass though. |

I haven't cracked mine open to check for any leaks, doesn't seem to be leaking at least from what I can tell there are no symptoms of leaking. I can probably look at it in the next couple of days and report back. |
