it should look pretty decent. i would go with a 225/40/18 tire but if you want some more meat than just get the 235's. and yes wheel dude is the best deal unless you want to buy them used.

as far as mods go i would get coilovers first or youll regret them not fitting and rubbing like crazy. get some bc coils and then get the wheels. as far as fender mods if you want to go slammed you will need all 4 fenders rolled and rears slightly pulled. also youll probably have to pull you front fender liners and tuck your wiring harness. i had to do all this plus use a torch and hammer to smash in my front fender wells to make my 18x10 +25 fit on my wrx and im running 225/40 tires with -3.5 front camber and -4.5 rear. but im also maxed out on how low i am.

225 would fit better (like those guys said).

you shouldn't need obscene amounts of camber.

i thought dfunk needed 10mm's....not sure.

my varrstoens required 10mm to clear up front and have a similarly concaved face (almost flat lol).

Would 18x8 ET37 wheels with 235/45's fit on my stock '05 WRX without fender rolling?

It's about time that he got something.

My stuff...

year: 2009
model: Impreza 2.5i Hatch

wheel model: Rota Silpstream
wheel size/offset: 16x7+48
tire brand/model: Bridgestone Potenza RE92
tire size: 205/55/16

wheel model: Rota G-Force
wheel size/offset: 17x7.5+48
tire brand/model: Kumho Ecsta ASX
tire size: 225/45/17

suspension: BC BR Coilovers (rears at max low, front can still go a tiny bit lower), Cusco Rear Lower Control Arms
alignment: Haven't gotten aligned since the last 1" drop but before I was at -1.2 front, -0.9 rear. Nothing crazy.
fender mods: none
spacers: none

Although the BC's are at max low, I know this isn't a crazy set-up but I am not rubbing and the fenders are untouched. I think that 225 +48 is probably the closest you can get to the (unrolled) fender without hitting it. 235 could probably be done, but a nigher offset would be needed. (good info for people who don't want to roll)

Sadly no real pictures yet.

Year: 2005
Model: RS Sedan
Wheel Model: Motegi Racing Wheels
Wheel size/offset: 17x7/+42
Tire size: 215/45/17? Recommendations?
Alignment: Stock
Fender Mods: Don't want to, if can be avoided...can I add saggy butt to avoid fender rub?
Suspension: Stock strut & springs from an 06 WRX TR

Additionally, given the stock wheelbase of 05 impreza sedan (RS: F - 1485mm, R - 1475mm ; WRX: F - 1485mm R - 1480mm; STi: F - 1490mm, R - 1495mm), i was thinking a 17x7 +42 offset will not make the wheels stick out the fender as much as it would on the WRX and STi. Or my thinking is incorrect.

Thanks

you shouldnt rub at all on stock suspension. . youll be fine. i used to run 17x8 +48 rota ge forces with 225/45/17 on tein s techs no problem. then i added 25mm spacers to make it a +23 offset and all i had to do was roll my fenders.

Do you rub in the rear at all? I am wanting the same spec wheels but most likely on KW coilovers.
2006 WRX
17x9 +42
235/40 or 255/40
Alignment?
Fender work: I wouldn't mind rolling the rears too much, but if I don't have to that would be great.

Any thoughts?

No rubbing at all. You should be fine tuning 255 with coilovers as well.

rolling your rear fenders, 255/40/17s, and you'll only need -1.5* camber in the rear too clear.

Default are 225/45/17 too small for a 17x9 rim +28?

im thinking about swapping my existing tires off my 17x7.5 rims over to a new 17x9 +28 wheel. just wondering if my tires will look too small or too aggressivewith that setup. more importantly will it be safe to drive hard on?
