some random backyard pics...since I haven't posted anything in a while
when we bought this house about 18 months ago the backyard was rock-hard clay, no grass...the guy had two large dogs that essentially tore it all up. Pic on the right is today, finally have some grass (and the new fence)...just thought I'd post pics for no apparent reason...and because it's a minor miracle that I managed to grow something green...
teh shed/future workshop finally fixed up the porch a bit..still have a few projects to do. had to build some new steps to the porch, the old ones were completely rotted out. this pic is wierd, makes it look like the posts are slanted. I had to go check after looking at it, but in reality they're straight/parallel. Must be some kind of camera lens effect the old steps

The screened-in porch looks great and the grass looks really good too.

The garage is crowded enough as it is That said, last year i did use the shed to store the body of the GT6 while I was doing the frame-off restoration. quite convenient. Every day I live here I thank the previous owner for getting a zoning and HOA variance to build the oversize shed Eventually the plan is to finish the interior and weatherproof it, run power to it, and make it into a shop where I can put drill press, air compressor, woodworking tools, etc. Can't afford to do it right now though...so for now it's just a big shed. It has a heavy-duty plywood floor, but I'm not sure if it can support the weight of a full car though...it's not built on a slab/concrete, it's built on 6x6 posts base (to keep it a "shed" vs. "garage" for zoning purposes). |

I dig it, thanks for sharing... when I graduate college and get my own place, it's going to have a huge garage, or a garage and shed for a separate work area

I sympathize with you though...here is the garage at my previous house (yes...more pics). The day we bought the new place with the garage I was on cloud nine... Quote:
There are still some bare spots you can't really see in the pics, but I'm trying to take care of them. The goal is to have the grass in great shape by next year when my daughter is old enough to play in it. I've lived in townhouses for so many years I am definitely still learning about how to do "yard stuff" lol... |
