I've been sitting in a training class as the Technical expert whenever they have questions. WHile doing so, I've RDP'd into my work machine and have closed 14 open tickets about account access problems, reran batch feeds to create Exchange accounts for 70 users, corrected a UNIX problem with one of our Radiology servers, responded to 4 voicemails, cleared out 11,000 transaction logs on our master ESS server, and firmly scolded the Helpdesk for not following the procedures that I've set for them to follow with a current project that I am running.

And finally, while typing this up, resolved some interpersonal communication issues with one of the hospital Directors in regards to an irrate staff clerk that had issues with me due to her ignorance of the system.

Now I get to eat lunch.....

Today, so far -

Alarm goes off, sleep another 20 minutes.
Get up, blow nose for 5 minutes, cough up some nasties (I still have a cold).
Take care of pets.
Scrape ice off car, drive to work.
Get to work 10 minutes late, eat bagel.
Check email, make tea.
Surf Nasioc.
Get nosebleed.
Find this thread and share.

Upcoming -

Work.

Media grid completed, but productivity has come to an impass.

A throbbing headache has begun to develop. Could go two ways. 1) I take Exederin with caffeine (which I don't normally have) and productivity could increase. 2) What surely is an anyeurism will finally rupture and I'll die, thus decreasing productivity.

Yay! You two are awesome.

My day was less than exhilarating. I have a natural body clock, so I woke up before my alarm. Lately I've just been laying there and letting it go off, cause I hate it so much it just wakes me up.
Today, I turn it off with 5 minutes until it goes off. Then I casually fall back asleep.
I get a phone call 45 minutes after I'm to be at work. I get up, get dressed and am in the office in 7 minutes.
Then I immediately start surfing the web. Then I start changing my schedule around to adjust for my needs - making others have to work to cover the times I'll be gone. God I love being a supervisor.

I just woke up and it's almost 1. Take that. In the past twenty minutes I've called to check what kind of dryer hook-up I have, cleaned my bathroom, packed a box of pet supplies, threw a load of laundry in the wash, e-mailed the rat rescue place with info, and I'm currently making myself some chicken cordon bleu.

In the next few hours I have to drive my roomie to work, go to Lowe's to pick up some chain and s-hooks, sew a hammock, pack more stuff, visit my grandparents, do more laundry, cook dinner, pick my friend up from work, then who knows what.

Take that.

Candy, can I have your mom's dressing recipe? I don't want my grandma's. She puts giblets in EVERYTHING, it's so disgusting.

Yes, I don't have it on me, but it goes a little something like this:

Bake a big pan of cornbread (not that crap that tastes sweet like cake, but the kind that tastes like corn

saute an onion in some butter with some celery

Boil a couple eggs, (if you want)

chicken broth

sage

salt and pepper

poultry seasoning

mix it all up until it's the right consistency, a little moist, even a tad soupy is ok as it'll firm a bit in the oven, but not too much, or it'll be mush

Kate here is one that 's pretty close to it that I found online. Don't use bread crumbs, just use cornbread , and a dd a little sage, but not too much :

6 c. crumbled cornbread
4 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
8 to 9 c. chicken broth
1 1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. diced onions
1 c. diced celery
5 to 6 eggs
1 tbsp. poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
Beat eggs slightly. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

Rock on sista. I'm making Thanksgiving dinner at my house this year (my first!) and my roomies' families really don't celebrate, so I want them to have a good one.

checked on the backups.
recreated some stuff in a database that i accidentally deleted yesterday when i was clearing out some test data. quicker to redo it then restore from backup
updated a the news on a website with some flash scrolling news ticker which wasn't working right so i had to send it off to the designer to fix anyway.
updated a list of assigned ip addresses
set up a new website with the worst domain name ever (allaboutmalignantmesothelioma.com - who the hell is going to type that all out)
fixed a bug on another website
went to wawa and got a sandwich
had a meeting about yet another website
reset some email passwords, set up some email accounts
just got an email about another bug on some other website
after i fix that, then i'm going to spend all afternoon coding new features for.. you guessed it, some website

That's sweet of you to do that for them. It's a lot of work though. If you wanted to do the shortcut way you could get a turkey breast and a spiral cut ham, and prep time on those would be nil. It's all the other stuff that really takes the time though.

Here's the easiest, and most tasty, pecan pie you could ever make:

CREAM CHEESE PECAN PIE

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
1 beaten egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. pecans, chopped
2 (10 in.) unbaked pie shells

Topping:
3 eggs
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream together softened cream cheese, sugar, beaten egg, salt, and vanilla. Spread over bottom of pie shells. Sprinkle pecans evenly over cream cheese layer. Combine all topping ingredients and beat until smooth. Pour over pecan layer. Bake 35 to 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve warm with whipped cream.

Ppl love, love, love this every time I've made it.

Hmm, this went from an 'Empowered Working Women of the New Millenium' thread to just another Kaffeeklatsch.

It was inevitable that talk would turn to food or sex eventually.

Turducken is good ish.

Cooking it for 16 hours @ 200 deg. F is a bit tedious, but hey, quality takes effort and time.

I woke up. Put some clothes on. Ran my fingers through my hair. Smoked a cigarette. Drank some water. Next up... change clothes and prep for a meeting. Hit up the post office on the way, too.

I don't get how you people have real jobs.
