I thought the same thing. Parts are no different either. People asking $575 for a used access port?

On the other side of the coin, when you have a rare car, and someone tries to throw you the ol' "Well, KBB value for your RS is..." I just kindly show them the door. You know what you're looking at, and I'm not selling it to you under an already low book value.

Depends on the RS though.

Most RS are not exactly rare, more uncommon (especially a clean / unmodded one)

Acadia green or Cardinal red with a 5mt? Rare.
Blaze yellow WRX? Rare
Sonic yellow WRX wagon? Rare.
Outback 35th anniversary with H6, cloth and monotone? **** me, rare. I have seen one in my life. Not sure the SUS version of the above even exists.

Clean, rust free 2001 Blue Ridge Pearl coupe with a Cobb intake, Stromung exhaust, performance gauge pack, 02 WRX seats, and some other stuff. Guy wanted me to come down to $2500.

It did have 198k miles, but I had a 2" thick binder of maintenance records, everything was up to date.

Ehh, rare only demands a premium at the high end of the spectrum. A beat to **** Blaze Yellow bugeye demands about the same as any other beat to **** bugeye.

Now, a pristine Blaze Yellow or Sonic Yellow might get you a few extra bucks to the right fanboy buyer.

For sure, beat down cars don't even get a second look unless I really need it and the price better be right. Similar condition AGM RS vs a RB RS? I might be willing to pay a couple hundred dollars premium on the AGM, but I'm not paying clean RB prices for it.

If you are serious about buying a car on this forum, you will soon learn to skip past the cars you aren't considering.

There were a number of good WRX wagons for sale when I was looking for mine. One of the moderators had a nice blue wagon listed, nice mods, reputable seller, reasonable miles. Fairly priced. You only have to sort through the chaff, assuming you aren't reading them for amusement. I got my car, and stopped reading the ads. Hasn't bothered me since.

Is this your first time using the internet to buy a vehicle?

Serious question, not trying to be a dick.

Meh, I've had two of them over the years and just bought a 2013 WRX. No room in the garage for it.

I'm sure I'll get another one to play with at some point.

I got a little more than that for my clone of your car. Mine was all leather.

Should have kept it too.

Oh, and if no one buys this car, I'm just going to send it to the scrap yard...they said that'll give me $3,200 for it. Your loss, chumps.

I always laugh when I see a stock motor STI or WRX that has a large turbo setup asking some asinine price over book because of the money "invested." Bitch please, that car has a stock motor with a large turbo setup, it's one WOT pull away from blowing a ring land. If anything, there should be a discount as the motor will have to be built shortly after purchase.

I still shake my head every time someone lists some tarded up modded all to hell car for twice its MSRP...

Modded cars are worth LESS than stock cars regardless of how expensive said mods are. Everyone knows used turboed Subarus are ticking time bombs too.

I would pay more for a super clean stock low miles first gen Impreza or Legacy than I would a modded used WRX any day of the week.

There is a 08 sti I have been seeing pop up for almost a year now. I understand projects and hobbies but how the hell do you get to the point of dumping over $120k into a sti?

Asking price... $35k.

Bought my current Forester from nasioc. Dude drove from TX and delivered to me in PA. Lots of trust on each end, but it worked out great.
