I'm fond' of the young buck. Raiti's got that pazzazz that y'all dullards' lack. That's why he's a damn success. Y'all gonna get Zonk'd when ya see me pullin' up in my new WRX.

You buncha' sorry hucklebuckin' pimps are all in it together, quit ur' moanin'. Back in my day, you'd get the wood shampoo. Raiti would be runnin' circles around u dullards.

Now back to this here new WRX, we got ourselves a fine piecea' engineerin' that ya better be thankin' ur B-holes' we got that 6er'. For those of ya that gotta ask ur ladies, well they offer ya the CVT fer' the neutered' folk among ya. And believe u me, there's gonna be plenty a that.

The plastic claddin' gotta be real nice when I get out to thrashin' n stompin' in the bush. I didn't treat my last WRX kindly, and this new one is gonna get the size 14 boot if ya catch what I'm sayin

Once I get my meat hooks on er' , she's gonna fit the bill...ya can't take ur honda civics n corrolas out to the bush for some heavy wranglin'. This here Ash Barty can do work. We got ourselves a bona' fide work-horse. Take it or turn tail n' leave it to ol' Jacky to do the dirty work n take er' out back for some real action. Buncha' polishers.

And my Ignore List elongates.

I can't wait for this car to hit the streets so there will be things to actually talk about.

He's the poor man's Doug DeMuro and he's far from one of the most popular reviewers on the internet. All he does is take dealer cars for a test drive and talk about how many twinkies he can fit in them. I watch them occasionally if I am interested in a particular car but he's not a guy that you overly care about his opinion. He tried to be as glass half full as possible with this car but even he has to zonk the SUV fender cladding. This is simply not something that anyone likes because it's a bad styling cue on a car.

He reminds me of an infomercial host. His videos are not the most informative or the worst. For me, it's kinda entertaining. His "zonk" is his shtick, that's all.

Nailed it. He’s a nice guy. But I’ve watched real reviewers that really know vehicles, to the point of talking about bushings, suspension components, up on a lift, etc, make fun of the guy. His reviews are more PR than a review.

This sycophant is just leeching onto anything at this point. It wreaks of desperation to quote Doc.

Oh, so it'll look better once it's out of estrus. That makes sense. I guess you've gotta go through some ugliness to get a new generation started.

Why Subaru…why??

I feel like it’s gonna be such a great car under all that ugly.
How many are saying to themselves; “Is it enough…can I look past that exterior?”

Anything with Active AWD is barely AWD at all these days with the constant decontenting by Subaru.

55F/45R split is just as FWD as the rest?

This meant that those customers were less impacted by the economy in general and were therefore more consistent purchasers who could be "relied on" in the down times.

I purchased my first new Subaru in 1999, and my wife purchased hers in 2001. We have owned quite a few since, with the last being a 2009 Legacy Wagon (manual). After that Subaru stopped making vehicles we wanted to buy. My wife (who is a Doctor) and I (who am an Engineer and Project Manager) can afford more expensive cars, but we purchased Subarus. We also had Doctor and Engineer colleagues who purchased multiple Subarus as well. Do you know how many of us still have Subarus??? Exactly zero.

Now I certainly don't have demographic data to back up my observations. But my first person experience is pretty shocking when it comes to "traditional Subaru customers". Subaru is definitely selling a lot more cars these days, but are those "new generation" customers the ones who will keep coming back even when the times are bad? Time will tell.

Brandon

With the tops in loyal customer retention? Simple answer.....yes.

The CVT is annoying and that is a shame as it is not a bad car except for that. Other companies offer more for the same price. Subaru's performance world is evaporated like their chances of a WRC win.

I do not blame them either. They found a woke crowd who lives and breaths marketing BS and they are reaping the benefits of lifestyle sales. They are a business, not our friends. They are doing what it takes to make money. Like all business should.

That path Subaru is currently on is just not same one as those of us who bought cars in 1997-2006 from them are currently on.

I bought my first Subaru in 2000. I was in my late 20's. I am 47 now and have lost interest in driving the same car I bought over 20 years ago. MY needs have changed. But I have watched them move the WRX to more and more a mainstream car trying to please more and more demographics.

They have forgotten the lesson of when you try to please all the people your product shifts to the mainstream and the people on the fringe, the enthusiasts, for example are dropped for a bigger piece of the financial pie.

WRX was never a mainstream car. IT was odd and quirky and fun. Now is bland and crosstrek-ified.

What is core to Subaru(hint: not performance) today? Safety, Longevity, go where you want. Now, the longevity is having some bad years....lets hope they get back on track.

But, go back 30+ years and what was Subaru's core then? Hmmmm......the same? They dabbled in a market for a while and did well. WHATEVER their reason they haven't advanced in the performance tech, it was still just a dabble compared to what their core is. Their core has NEVER changed. They just improved their cars to appeal to a wider audience. And?

It worked.

Kinda amazing they have a marketing slogan(fact) they've used for 30+ years. "97% of Subarus sold in the last 10 years are still on the road". Granted that number has been as low as 94% I think. How many other manufacturers can do that? Very few. If any
