After seeing that a red grand seiko snow flake exists and that it's super limited in pieces along with a grand seiko price tag I decided to do a homage with seiko mod parts.
36mm case.

That is attractive. Do the seconds and date wheel match? I can't tell if it's my screen, an illusion from the disk face or what.

They appear to be the same red color from what I can tell from my eye. I hope to believe that to be the case lol

I assume you're referring to the infamous 'Bloodflake' aka SBGA421

I actually don't hate the 4pm date window as i have it on my Shinola and I never really think about it. It keeps those 12, 3, 6, 9 indices completely clean.

I totally get why it bugs the **** out of others.

Family friend of mine recently picked up the GS SBGE271, aka the 'Fall' watch from the new 4 seasons collection of GMTs.

I got to try it on and its definitely a beautiful piece in person.

Looks better than 4:30 date. I think B&R pulls it off well because they are small, unobtrusive, circular, and date wheel is color matched. All other look STOOOPID.

I think B and R also align the data straight up too, not cocked at an angle which is just pure lazy. Like Sinn does the date on the 556 A RS

As I recall from reading an article about that when the movie first came out, the analog display was completely non functional (the 25-30 versions were to show different analog times) and the digital display took up the entire case.

I think I'm burning out on the watch hobby. I'm happy with my core of watches, there's nothing new that really interests me, prices are shooting up at all levels, and I really don't have occasion to wear more than 3 or 4 of the watches I have. It's almost feeling like a chore to open up WUS and WatchRecon lately. I really should pare down my collection to a box of 6 and call it a day.
