Post Sorry if this is an old subject but STi in 2003?

A buddy of mine ICQ'd me that the STi is slated to arrive in late 2002/early 2003. Any truth to this? He quotes the new Car and Driver as saying it will have the 6 speed tranny, big Brembo brakes and those gold rally wheels. Est cost is $30,000 USD. Has anyone heard anything about this? If I'm late in covering this topic I apologize. Speaking of big Brembos, here's mine for my 300ZX. Just got them in yesterday.

I've been hearing about the STi's. I don't know if it's true or not. But, if it is true, I'll get one.

Yeah, I just got the May issue of C&D yesterday. They said the STi should be coming in 2003. I don't know how reliable their claim is. I think I'll just wait and see. By that time, maybe I could afford the WRX, if not the STi WRX. Or maybe not.

from SOA's mouth... "if the demand for the current WRX is strong enough, we will consider bringing over the STi version. Though that is at least two years away."

Which is meaning a 2004 model in late 2003.

bratmantlz: The brakes are for my 1991 Z which is the latest body style you can get (90-96). I'm assuming you weren't referring to the 2003 Z that isnt out yet.

tmat3: I had planned on getting a WRX when my Z was paid off next year but it looks like I'll have to wait for the STi now if it really does come here. I gotta get a copy of the new C&D to find out for sure.
