Need size for this flange bolt

https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_20...010406160.html

Basically it is 0104S*B in the diagram here:

https://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru_20...12-050-16.html

I dropped mine and I think it came to rest on the steering rack crossmember somewhere but I can't put eyes on it to use a grabber so I need a new one.

Looking for this bolt but brand new. It is one of the bolts that holds the top of the coolant expansion tank to the tank itself. Not available from Subaru(or Subaru of Japan). Not sure if this bolt is used anywhere else on the car, but I googled the size(m6x1.0x 60mm) as well as the "9B" or 9.8 maybe? No luck anywhere.

I just refinished a Spec C coolant tank and would like the exact brand new bolts to go along with it. Cleaning them up on a wire wheel brush will work, but if I could find brand new ones, I'd go with those.

It seems restorers of Japanese motorcycles run into hard-to-find bolts with certain markings on them that may be specific to certain manufacturers as well.

Anyone have a part number for these "9B" bolts or know a source for Japanese bolts?

Hi Shik,

My guess is that's a metric grade 9.8 flange bolt (because it has a flange under the hex head - the flange distributes load).

Metric grade 9.8 is a real thing, but they are pretty hard to source in the US from what I can tell with 8.8 and 10.9 being far easier to get.

If you're looking for excruciating exactness, finding those EXACT 9.8 ones will be tricky. You should be able to easily find 8.8 ones and for the purpose they serve even 8.8 is overkill. An 8.8 grade is roughly equivalent to an SAE Grade 5 which has a yield/break rating of 640psi.

Thanks jblaine for the info!

I was figuring it was a 9.8 grade, but I never saw one that didn't have the decimal, which led me to think maybe it's 9B or some other marking. I thought for sure before I started looking for them that it would be able to be had easily, as it's just a bolt. Definitely not the case.

Thanks again.

m10 x 1.25 for the exhaust bolts and a bunch of other stuff under the hood (green brackets for fuel rail, intake manifold, radiator mount)

m18 x 1.5 for o2 bung, the gallery threading on the block for oil pressure/temp sensors
m20 x 1.5 oil drain bolt

unsure of:

bov, intercooler mounts - I think are m8 x 1.25, either that or m10 x 1.25

brake caliper bleeder and clutch bleeder - not sure if it's m7 x 1.0, but they're both the same threading

rear seat mounting bolts look like they're m10 x 1.0
04 wrx front caliper bleeder screws m10 x 1.25"
bov bolts m12 x 1.25
I/C mounting bolts m12 x 1.25
these are what ive encountered.

Default Air intake duct bolt size?

Anyone know the size of the 2 flange bolts that hold the bottom part of the air box on? The part number for the bolts is 901000149.

Site for reference:

https://www.subaruparts.com/oem-parts/subaru-center-shield-bolt-901000149

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know the size of the bolt that holds the smaller, outer turbo stay to the block?
This is the turbo stay piece I'm talking about but doesn't show the bolt in the diagram.
