Installed a Ball Bearing Arashi 20g. Today during tuning the turbo was overboosting to over 25 plus punds. Not sure why because according to specs, the turbo has a 1.1bar actuator on it, which equates to 15 psi. Is it possible an incorrect spring was used?

Been running mines now for 3+ years 30K+ miles with no issues.
Running EWG and meth injection at 24 psi making 415 whp and 380 wtq Dynojet (I have seen 440whp and 390 wtq on road dyno on a much cooler night). Turbo is about capped out there in terms of efficiency. |

i have the journal bearing with 11 blade exhaust and its about as responsive as the stock vf48...when it goes i am going to do the same turbo ball bearing and would expect it to spool a little better!

Been running my td06 sl2 20g now for about 20,000 miles now all in all great turbo for the money. Took me a little to get used to driving it with the lag at first, but once your able to keep it in that sweet spot with your shifts its a beast. I am thinking about switching out the compressor housing to a 3in anti surge style to see if it helps it with lag will update this thread if I do.

Have you consider swapping out the journey bearing cartridge with a KBT bolt-on ball bearing to help with spool, I think Arashi offer this as an option. - |

<br> This on a 2.5l fully built with FMIC it hits 21psi at 3700 sometimes a little earlier depends on my driving. Will definitely hit higher boost but my trans will definitely not handle what this turbo has potential to do. Holds my 19 psi I have it set at til 7000 rpms no problem and pulls great. I stuck with a journal style turbo for reliability I drive too many miles to have to worry about rebuilding turbo every 20,000 miles |

Is this statement based on personal experiences ? Or is this type of failure specific to Subaru or a particular brand of turbo ? I ask because a quick Google didn't show a lots of hits. If this is a concern, check out RHB turbo in Canada. They have a patented triple ball bearing design that float on oil film that might just be the best of both worlds. https://rhbturbochargers.ca/pages/fu...e-ball-bearing - |

For anyone that’s ordered a turbo from arashi how’d it go and how was communication. I’m trying to order one right now but having a lot of problems. Their website is having issues and I’ve gotten a few messages back and forth through Instagram dms, I’ve sent multiple emails but nothing in response. Any tips?

Horrible, Dont Do It If You Like Your Car
I have an Arashi 20G Ball Bearing that has been in the car less than 8 months and it arrived with a bad internal wastegate, which I found out the hard way when the car was strapped in a dyno and was already with the tuner.
Also, both turbine wheels broke the blades and the cartridges went boom, leaving me stranded on the highway with an inmense white smoke cloud when the entire oil of the car spilled into the DP and the exhaust, thankfully at the mercy of a tow truck. Horrible experience. Stay far away. Btw, my car was properly and professionaly tuned by an experienced engineer at only 16psi. Thankfully, from what I know the blade fragments have not reached the cylinders. |

My Arashi TD05 20G has been on the car now for a year running 1.5bar boost and is perfect, we turned it up today to 1.7 bar and the thing is insane!!!! most happy
It replaced the FP green that was on the car. 1 : its better built than an FP 2: Its on par with a Blouch as we had both side by side and opened up. This is not a "knock off" https://ibb.co/F3gvTjq Last edited by Nightwingthief; 09-17-2021 at 08:36 AM. |

Hey man! Love this forum, hows the turbo holding up? or anyone else that sees this, hows yours holding up? I recently purchased the Arashi spec C td05-20G (Journal bearing for longevity) and noticed no one else has really reviewed the twin scroll variant of this turbo. But it cannot stray far from the experience i have read about up until now. When im able to get it in and have all supporting mods up to par, i will update about spool times and what my tuner is able to push this thing too.
Other Specifics: 52.5/68mm Cold side (GTX 11 Blades) Compressor Wheel 49.2/55.8mm Hot Side (9 Blades) Turbine Fairly certain those are just the standard specs when ordering but if anyone was to compare that is exactly what is is. |
