Default Correct EJ223 main bearings?

Just a quick simple question: EJ223 main bearings, are they the same with EJ222's? Thrust bearing is on the rear, #5, but all sets I see state thrust bearing in #3 position such as https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...434086&pt=5220

Would this kit still work? 99 Impreza Outback, EJ223.

Yeah, you're right, the EJ223 has the thrust bearing at the rear, in position #5. Most aftermarket bearing kits have the thrust bearing at #3, which is more common for later EJ motors like the EJ25 series.
You can still use those kits, just ignore the thrust faces at #3 and run standard bearings there. Then grab the correct OEM thrust bearing for #5 separately. Subaru still offers it as part number 806535040. You can find it here on with the diagrams and everything: https://www.subarupartsdeal.com/part...806535040.html
