P1088-Tumble Generator Valve #1 (RH) Position Sensor Circuit Low Input

Being a thinking man, I would conclude your Right Side TGV position sensor is bad. Crazy eh?

Back side of the tgv nestled up next to the turbo, has a 2 wire connector going to it, i have found info to support that particular sensor is the same as a tps sensor which is important because i did not find the tgv sensor available without the entire tgv assembly.....your findings may vary.

If you don't have any idea how to fix it, find a repair shop. Simple. Obviously it was hard enough for you to search on the subject, and TGV's can be a fairly intimidating job for someone without basic skills.

Soo back again...i had the check engine light turned on with the code p1088 i was gonna have replace the tgv sensor but while I was driving, my check engine light turned off. I used the obd2 to diagnose to see if the code was still ther and it was so i decided to delete it and see if it would come back on. And few fays ago it came back one with both the same code p1088 and a new code p1090. Any tips??

Get hold of the service manual for your car, I know that those codes are in the manual.

well what year/model car do you have? Because i would imagine if your car is new enough and still covered under factory/extended warranty. That taking it to a dealership may be your best bet?

Both codes are TGV. I would think that looking at both wiring/connection and the tgv itself might be a place to start.

Or see your friendly local Subaru mechanic to fix this for you.

Its a 2003 wrx. So i dont believe warranty will play a role in this situation.
Gosh! Thing is is that i dont wanna play with the car wen it sooo close to winter already. But any tips on where to start?

Seriously? How many times has it been suggested so far? Find a mechanic in your area, bring him the car, pay money, get car fixed. Done.
