Default Axle bind after lift

My car is an 05 NA Saabaru with a 5 speed. I've lifted it with Forester struts and it also has sedan control arms with sedan axles. Ever since the lift a few months ago I've been fighting my driver front axle clunking after turning and going from a stop. The axle has been swapped with the same issue. Everything I read says there shouldn't be any issues and I can't find any similar issues after a common lift like this. Ideas?

Oh boy, when I bought my 02 WRX it had Forester struts on it and was lifted, so should be more or less identical to what you're running. It never had an issue that I knew of before I removed the Forester stuff. I didn't keep it that way for long.

When you swap axles, did they immediately clunk? If so, I would suspect the clunk is something else.

They pretty much do. What else clunks like this? Aren't bearings more of a constant grinding when they go bad? Besides the wheel bearings everything in the suspension is pretty new and looks to be in good shape. I've poked around and nothing else seems to be bad. The car has almost 150k on it.
