Default Help, car runs and stalls. Changed a bunch of parts no luck MIGHT BE FIXED. Updated

Hi guys,
So here is what my brother and I found. The perrin sump restrictor bolt was gone and dripped hot oil down to duct air intake assembly. This melted the gasket and plate on it. The part number is 14462AA571 and this unit appears to come with a factory cap on it and for what I do not know. it was hanging down. It wasn't evident until my brother and I jacked up the car and removed the bottom front engine under cover. My brother found the plate hanging off. Very odd. I have a new assembly coming Tuesday and I will report back but it makes sense since directly tied to the intake pipe and the MAF couldn't keep up. Here are some pictures and it least the car has new some parts

Hi guys,
Hoping someone here can help.
2016 WRX Limited
Milage: 49k
Mods: Cobb Stage 2+, Pro Tune, Grimmspeed IC, EGR/TGV delete, Cobb boost solenoid.
IAG Street AOS
Perrin turbo sump restrictor with plug installed on the side.

Did the upgrade when the car had 10k on it and never had an issue.
Was driving and the car starts sputtering like backfiring and stalled. Started up and limped it home by keeping RPM at 2-3k. I broke down about 1 mile from my house.

My thinking was MAF sensor. Took it out, cleaned it. Starts and shutdown about 4 seconds later. I unplug the MAF and the car starts and stays running and that is what I took a log of since I can't log anything with the MAF plugged in.

Here is what I did thus far with no luck:

- Took out MAF sensor and cleaned it. That didn't work so I bought a new OEM MAF and installed it. Still no luck and no change. Does the same start up with it, it stalls. Start up without it, it runs.
- Replaced spark plugs
- Thought it was bad gas so we pumped it out. Went to a different shell 93 octane and filled it with a 5 gallon can. That didn't work.
- Pulled the fuel pump out and inspected. When you turn the key on you can hear it buzzzz..Sounds normal.

Something is telling me its A/F related but I am banging my head against the wall. Next I am going to check hoses and vacuum.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

First step will be to look for vacuum or boost leak.
If you are sucking air in after the MAF then the A/F will be too lean - poor performance. Unplugging the MAF puts it in limp mode which uses a calculated fuel amount based on engine RPM/throttle position. That is why it will run with MAF unplugged.
Fuel trim and A/F readings with the MAF unplugged will be meaningless since the ECU is in limp mode.
