Default Gauge Pod Placement

Hey guys was hoping to get some feedback on where others have placed their gauges?

I currently have 2x Prosport JDM gauges mounted in the A Pillar. I have a new Defi Boost gauge getting installed next week. Currently, the Pillar Pod is only held in by double sided tape as I am waiting to get this final gauge put in before I drill through the pillar and connect it and feed it all properly as once I do that, it is basically locked in.

I always wanted my gauges on the A Pillar as I thought it looked amazing and I love the look. The only issue is driving at night. If there are no street lights the gauges are very dazzling as they are extremely bright. They are set to illuminate with ignition and they dim slightly when lights are turned on but it is like 15 - 20% dimmer and I'd like it to be like 50% dimmer.

The other issue is my driver side has 35% tints and sometimes at night I struggle to see out the side with the light from gauges creating a sort of blind spot.

I am considering moving them into the clock dash position but I first wanted to ask if that was worth doing. Will it be just a bright there? Maybe even worse since I am wondering if it will create a small blindspot at night looking straight ahead and I wouldn't want that! Or is the dash location definitely better?

I was also thinking of making some custom tint covers that I could easily clip on and take off so if I ever do drive at night I can just clip them on.

I don't do that much night driving and even less without street lights but when I do, I do notice it.

Kinda wish I bought the Prosport gauges that have 6 different tint levels but too late now .

if your gauges are too bright in one spot, they'll still be too bright in another.
you'll just have a different problem depending where they reflect at night

i attached my steering column mounted boost gauge to the factory dimmer switch to control brightness. (I didnt want anything on my A-pillar because of air bag.)

Not familiar with the gauges you have but I assume you could do the same? or wire a dimmer switch in just for them?
Looked for a wiring diagram for yours but I didnt find one, but then again i didnt look that hard.
cant you just attenuate their power?

I'm not too savvy on electrical components so I'll try to explain this and hopefully you get what I am talking about .

I looked into it but you cannot wire any sort of dimmer into these gauges and it effects the readings due to how they are wired. Not sure the exact terms etc, but basically the Gist I got was wiring in a dimmer etc would effect the readings.

But thanks for your input on them being brighter in a different spot

theres always a way. do you have a link to the wiring diagram? or to the exact gauge(s).
or can you tell me what wires are coming out of the back?
