I love the styling of the current generation. I hope they don't deviate much. The really just need to update the interior a little bit. I like what I am seeing so far.

It's so odd how I don't see the current gen in the spy shots WRX, so I actually like it. Yet some are fans of the current and are disappointed that the spy shots WRX looks similar to the current WRX.
We'll just have to wait and see when the camo comes off because pretty much everyone complains when there's camo and shortly after it premieres. |

I prefer the 2015-2017 front bumper design over the current version.
The new one is TBD. I'm on the fence about the Levorg front but I can't see it in person. |

No more so than from a Legacy. So, what makes it "differentiated" to you? Impreza and Legacy have always shared their basic structure......like now. For years they shared the EXACT same engine and transmission(albeit the turbos had differences). Interior door handles are identical across the brand(WRX/STI will be joining soon). 2015 saw significant changes to the "shared" platform......and only shared a roof, trunk and interior.....which is also shared with the Forester; so, is that differentiated? Just curious your definition. |

I'm hoping this is just a test mule for the new power plant.

Can't stand that split front window, gives the car such a econobox cheapened look.

It would be interesting if this really was just a mule built by subaru. the taillights are brand new, but the front lights are almost the same as the existing one. hopefully March 2021 has a teaser to show us a little more

Y'all are blind if you see the current WRX in the spy shots of the new WRX. I
However, if you said it resembled the current Impreza, just with a hood scoop, that would make total sense to me. |

The headlights on the camo'd car have nearly the same outline as the Levorg headlights. The front bumper design has some differences. I'm guessing this is not a mule.

Well it is based on an economy car. I hate it as well as it does cheapen the look but the WRX and STI have always sold well despite always being the ugly duckling compared to its peers.

You mean the current Impreza that looks nearly the same as the last generation Impreza?

Tail lights are pretty well the only major design changes and it looks like the next gen will once again tweak the tail lights while keeping with a similar design dating back two generations. You are probably in the minority here if you think there's a lot separating the current and last gen Impreza. Current gen Impreza sales may not be so abysmal if it didn't look so much like the Imprezas that were on the lot in 2012.

Collection from the other thread.
Renderings I believe the last one is the Levorg. Looks very much like the WRX test mule. |

Oh my, those wheel arches...

The renders make the wheel arches a bit exaggerated compared to the camo'd car and Levorg. I'm not digging the non-round shape though.

Usually tasteful fender flares add to the appearance of a sporty car but in this case it draws unwanted attention to what is a curious choice of wheel arch by Subaru.

Yeah, not many cars can pull off angular/non-round wheel arches, and this is definitely not one of them. The rest of those renderings look OK but the arches are terrible.

Is it too much to ask for a wiper on the WRX rear windshield? At least as an option would be nice.

The arches on the Levorg don’t look bad at all to me. With WRX, the tacked on fenders look to be a problem 100%. It won’t look good at all, flat out. Worst of all is that they don’t even seem to add any depth, maybe 15mm max. Pointless.
