Default 2017 WRX power seats in base model

Has anyone ever swapped the manual seats for power seats in the 15+ WRX?

I have a base 2017, and I hate how high the seats are. I found a deal for the limited seats that are leather and have power, but not sure if they’ll work in the base.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Can this be done since there is no power cables coming to the base model. ’ve seen threads about adding heated seats, but nothing about power seats.

I thought they were to high too, but then I discovered the lever to lower them. I assume you tried that?

Yeah I’ve lowered it as much as it can. I still think it’s too high. I hear the 15+ models have the highest seating.

Maybe it’s just me, or Subaru’s generally sit higher than other cars. I’m coming from a BMW e92, and those sit low to the ground already and I had the seat to the lowest setting too.

Maybe go to a dealer that has a limited, and sit in it first before you spend money on seats that might not adjust any better than what you have now.

I'm only 5ft7 and I have the seat bottomed out on my 18 wrx. I like where it sits. I guess it depends on what your used to and how tall you are.

My friend has the limited and I like the way it sits. It goes a lot lower than the manuals.

I also have the '17 base WRX and have done some research on this (I'm 6'5" and just fit). Turns out you can get power seats in the '17 WRX:
https://www.subarupartwholesale.com/...4126FJ030.html

HOWEVER- according to the factory service manual the base WRX wiring harness does not have the connectors for them. I'm still considering it, but it looks like more than a simple bolt / plugin job.

Is it really just having to buy that harness? If it is I’m doing it. I found a local junk yard that had a limited wrx and only wants 600 for all seats.

I havne't sat in manual seats but I've got the power cloth seats in my WRX Sport (canadian model similar to the Premium) and that **** does not get low enough.

I'm 5ft 10in y'all and have the cloth manual seats and seem to sit fine with the lever all the way down. Have you tried pushing your steering wheel back or higher? Maybe that will give you the comfortability you're looking for!

I’m comfortable in my seat. I just like to sit lower, it’s a preference.

its all about perspective.

going from an suv or an economy car to the wrx it's ok.

going from a sporty car like a brz or miata to a wrx it's like driving a truck.

This. I drove an f80 m3 and it had the best seating position ever, super super low and getting back into the wrx it’s awful. But then I get used to it again and it is ok

I'm interested in this as well. I have recently changed out my rear seats to ones from a 2020 STI with the recaro interior and I have the chance to buy both front seats from him at a good price. I just need to know how much of a hassle it is to wire the power driver seat and the two seat heaters. I have switched out the console to an STI one already, so I have the seat heater switch and the connector for it.
