Looks to be 3D printed. I'm looking for one of these as well.

I swapped this in about a year ago in my 2017. I found a guy local who designed and 3D printed the coin tray to replace the DCCD controller. To keep coins from rattling to much I cut a small section of tool box tray liner and placed it in the bottom of the tray.

Wait so can I just buy the cup holder piece and swap it out? Do I just need to buy one item?

If you have heated seats the switches and wire harness connections for the STI are different than a WRX so they are not plug and play. I had to cut the opening out to fit the stock WRX switches. I ended up buying a complete STI center console on eBay with the DCCD controller. I turned around and sold the DCCD controller and other parts that I didn’t need to offset a majority of the cost.

That's beautiful. I want one but it's hard to justify. I'm wrestling with this and the JDM leather shift console like the S4's.

Hey guys, some updates.

I chatted with mpen97 on Reddit, and he sent me the 3D model of the coin tray that he designed. I have made some improvements based on the model that he created (download links below):
  1. Slightly enlarged the tray.
  2. Contoured the "overhangs".
  3. Added 4 clips and 2 screw holes (based on the SI Drive design).

Things I did:
  1. Printed in ABS, 100% infill due to the clips and screw holes. Two clips (both on the same side) broke off while test fitting the model, but the other two clips and the screws held the tray in quite well.
  2. My model was printed at 102% scale, I'm guessing anywhere from 101-102% should be good as ABS contracts after printing.
  3. Sanded the top surface of the "overhang" and spray painted the tray matte black.

Download links to model:

  2. stl: https://www.dropbox.com/s/stneiim4xp..._V4.2.STL?dl=0

Finally, some pictures!

I have just swapped the STi shift trim and want the exact same setup you have for the sliding cup holder minus the DCCD controller, any guidance as far as how you went about getting that? I have a 16 wrx as well, thanks !

I went to a local wrecker and bought the centre console, which includes the sliding cup holder. Pretty simple removal. One screw underneath the handbrake boot and two screws at the bottom of the centre console, inside the arm rest. Pop that off, unplug the 12v socket from underneath before yanking the console out and it's as easy as that.

In terms of replacing the DCCD. See c1em3ntchua's just above yours. We worked on the coin tray and, I guess, perfected it, to fit. A download link is available for the .STL file within the post, however, requires 3D printing. If you have a 3D printer, knock yourself out. Alternatively, you should be able to find a local business that does 3D printing. Send them the .STL file and ask to have printed in ABS material, this way it can withstand the heat. And then you can sand/paint to match, which is a simple matte black.

Please do go ahead. I'm based in Singapore so it doesn't make sense for me to print it and ship it over to the USA. The design is open-source anyway, so enjoy

In that case, any suggestions on print orientation/settings? Thinking standing on the thin flat edge or 45 degrees may be easiest. Lots of overhangs/support to deal with

Apologies for the late reply. I'm not very active here.

My printer had it printed in two orientations for me to choose - (1) standing on the thin edge, and (2) normal orientation - see first picture of this post.

I found that (1) was more ideal for sanding later on as you don't have to deal with layers (the overhangs are slightly contoured), but (2) was a better fit. Not too bad though, since (1) ended up slightly larger so I just had it sanded down to get it to fit.

@c1em3ntchua Thx for sharing this! I've been waiting ever since I got my 2015 for this kind of mod!

I got mine made by AnT 3D Printing and paid $45 after tax w/ free shipping. They did an amazing job! Finally took some time to sand and paint it. Also trimmed an extra Subaru Weather Mat Coster I had lying around to fit the inside for some grip.

Overall, I absolutely love it and can finally cross this off my mod list. Thx again!

i ended up printing it on a 45 degree angle to avoid the longish bridge across the top

Big thanks to everyone who contributed in this thread. I sti interior swapped (seats, center console, shift surround) my 2018 base WRX a few months ago and have been wanting to do something like this since then. I just ordered ($41.xx) this last night from AnT based on the recommendation above.
Can't wait to install it.
Thanks again all!
