Post attn: Webkris... rumblesoft info

Evening Kris. I was finally getting around to mounting the skidplate today but I needed to go out and buy some metric hardware. I remember some rumors about the MY99's and the MY00's needing different hardware, and a seearch didn't yield the info...
What exactly do I need to mount this??

Thanks,
Fitz

Fitz,

you need 8x1.25 metric bolts for the front. now the back mounting holes are what may be different. you either have threaded or non-threaded holes. if you have threaded, i believe you can use the same bolts as the front. it you have non-threaded you can use any bolt with a nut. Kris recommends 5/16". if you have a 1st generation plate, you may not be able to line up both holes in the back. that's how mine is. but, one bolt holds it just fine. the 2nd gen plates' holes are wider.

Yup, 8M 1.25 thread pitch & 1.25 inches long (32mm) I had the same problem with one of the holes, a little dremel action and it was fine. I also used a metal file to clean up some of the rough edges. I was able to use the same bolts on the front and rear.

You guys are great! Service with a smile. Thanks Pete.
Ken, depending on the weather I'll try and swing by tomorrow... might just be there for a little bit. 30 people crammed in a garage with two cars might be a bit much for me to handle.

Thanks again,
Fitz

I figured I could either do that skidplate or the rear deck.. both have been... lacking for awhile.

I think Aaron and myself did our skidplates in about a 40 minutes.. 30 minutes on one, 10 on the other.. Once we figured out where everything went it was a piece of cake. I put mine up on the auto ramps and it made getting to the rear bolts really easy.

Sorry Mark - I missed this one.
Glad to hear it turned out fine.
There is a rumor that I will soon have a rear-diff protector made from aluminum.

No more group buys for Rumblesoft - but I'll still give NESIC members a discount on shipping. (cuz- I won't have to box it up - or ship it.)
Thanks,
- Kris

Yum, rear-diff protector!

GB ?, what's the rear-diff made of? Does it come with mounting screws?

I do find it amazing & great(for us) that you guys do group buys because of all the *fun* involved in putting it together, but I do like the outcome (the toys). Keep up the good work regardless if you do groupbuys or individuals ones.
