Default Valve springs for GSC S2

Picked up an engine recently that has a set of GSC Beehive springs. I'm hearing conflicting things about the quality of them. I've also heard they tend to break under load. So I'd really rather nip this one at the bud.

Is it worth changing them out?
What would you use to replace them?

I have a set of BC's on hand. Considering swapping those in.

I would leave them in and not worry about them. The stories you hear or read is probably 1% that are bad and 99% work just fine. Me personally, I'm planning to go with Supertech beehive springs in my build.

The only time I have seen a issue with GSC Beehives is also the time people cant tell you the measured install height during assembly. As in they werent measured and shimmed for proper preload.

So they cant tell you installed height but are sure it was a issue with the spring....

Beehive springs are more finicky to having the wrong install height. Things need to be right. Good enough, just doesnt cut it.

I use them for quite a few of my engines for customers. Probably half the engines I blueprint/build get them. Id have to look at my records, but around 60-70 sets last year. Coming into the 3/4 quarter this year is looking about the same.

Most failures happen due to improper installs.

Rexworx, in other words you see no issue using GSC springs if properly installed and used for the correct application? I ask because I'm considering an IAG long block and those come with GSC valvetrains. Like OP, I've heard horror stories about GSC, Ferrea, and Supertech. Even though I understand failures can happen, it's super helpful to hear the opinion of someone that actually works on these cars, rather than random stuff online. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks
