this has got to be the greatest dyno forum i have seen for a subaru. i just finished going through all 29 pages. i have a question for the NA owners or anyone familiar with the engine. im trying to find my peak torque and peak horsepower engine speeds. i have seen many NA dyno graphs and each suggest a different RPM.

for example this two from 06-07 2.5i suggest different RPMs?:

from an 08 impreza and 09 legacy also are conflicting:

can anyone explain? thanks.

They have two different runs, like a stock run and tuned run or before and after.

Those are 4 different dyno plots you're comparing and they all read different. If you're just looking for peak hp and torque at what rpm best just google the specs of your car; it will tell you where you make the most power and torque.

well subaru claims peak horsepower at 6000 and peak torque at 4400. however on the dyno the car peaks at 4600 in torque and 5700rpm for horsepower. power nosedives at 6000rpm. this is why im confused.

So many variables, and these are rolling dyno's probably whereas Subaru would use engine dyno.

Default Liz's 07 WRX score @ Cobb Surgeline

Nothing crazy since the tune is on the conservative side, but I'm a very happy owner and the difference is night and day

My software dyno seemed accurate between what I saw for stock WRX before my swap then the gains I got on the awd dyno matched almost exactly with the software runs post swap too.

How accurate it is really depends on knowing the right weight. I wasted time driving around for a bit till I got the gas at exactly 25% and then I made my pretty passenger stand on the side of the strip risking insult about her weight.. All just to keep things the same and even then I know there was a bit of a weight change with the motor swap.
