IMO, there's nothing to see here.
You know your central coast.

I would have thought 1 in 5 going back was a false number too. Most people I know who have EV would not switch back. That would be admitting they made a mistake... and the chances of that are slim to zero.

Besides if you have a charger at home and a reliable power grid, and a second car that is ICE why would you go back. You never left? I wager most EV households are a 2 or 3 plus car household at this time.

All will be pushed into EVs very soon by higher fuel prices, Carrot and Stick on its way for 50% EV by 2030. You are in a political economy now MMT with big dreams of new future.

Yeah, just a little bit; I spent some time with the family in and around Pismo and Avila Beach in the thick of the pandemic.
We like riding the Bob Jones bike trail (between hwy 101 and Avila Beach) back and forth until our 8 y.o. calls it quits .

I'd daily an EV, but I know what I'm getting into; upcoming Ford Lightning is checking enough boxes, even the 230mi range model could work. I'd charge at home though, 110v at first, install a LVL2 when we know where/when we are moving (selling our house within the next 3ish years depending on how things go with the market to move into a neighborhood).
We'd still have an ICE for long trips, and I'd have an ICE toy for when I need a fix, but as a homeowner & parent, a 4dr pickup would be vey helpful (currently borrow my FILs when I need it, but it's just an extended cab so can't handle kids) also the frunk is massive.

The truck does intrigue me but not at the current prices. I would love to see it in the mid 50's with 300 + miles

Is there additional pricing info I missed?
I was under the impression the swing was from "low 40s" for fleet/contractor spec. all the way up to 90k+ for the loaded limited spec.

With that pricing swing being somewhat in-line with ICE F-150 sticker/MSRP (+10k delta), I'd expect the reasonably appointed XLT/Lariat with 300mi range to land in the 50-60 range depending on how many boxes you check.

I mention sticker because the EV's will not have the massive discounts you can get on an ICE model, at least initially.

My comment had to do with your hydrocarbon B/S. It's been proven wrong. However, I don't disagree with the sentiment that EV will need to live along side ICE for a while. I'm all for EV, but I'm not getting rid of my ICE road tripper/mountain shuttle. The re-charge capabilities just aren't up to my, or most other people's, demands yet. It will be the second car.

I was really excited when Tesla demonstrated the ability to quickly swap out batteries. I thought this could be a good model moving forward, but it would require mfr's to really all accept the same battery standards, and they don't seem to want to do that. I was imagining a world where you pull up to a battery station and your depleted batteries are swapped with fully charged ones within a matter of minutes. You pay some monthly lease fee based on a certain number of swaps. Of course you can charge at home, but when you're on the go and need a fresh battery, you just stop and get one.

Not likely.

Scrappy just has to have a reason. For some reason.
