Exclamation Let me start a rumor.

Well, I was talking to my friend who is also a Subaru rep tonight at our lame Richmond autoshow. We were just chatting about the WRX and how he's excited to get his demo which should arrive this coming week and how mine might show up with his. So anyway, he was also saying how the price for the WRX is going to go up!!! I said hmm... I thought that would happen. He also said to expect some interior changes but he didn't know what or when. So those of you who are waiting for the next model year might be looking at a much higher price.

When you say "mine", are you meaning my demo or my production pre-ordered WRX for private purchase?
I would also have to agree with you that the Richmond Auto Show was pretty lame. I find it hard to believe they couldn't have put a little effort to get a WRX there. They did have a L.L. Bean WRX Fleece pullover there though... so exciting... At first when I saw the clothes from behind I was suprised because I thought that I might be able to get some SWRT clothing without paying the ridiculous shipping costs from the UK. Nope.

Cool

The Richmond show is traditionally lame. He did try very hard to get the WRX for the show but Subaru denied it. Come on, it's Richmond. I wouldn't pay to ship a car here either. People are very happy with their pickups and boat shows.

As far as what I am picking up, it would be my very own WRX. I kinda doubt it would be here this early. But his demo will definitely be here this week.

About this 27k thing. Where did that number come from anyway? Another rumor? I kinda doubt the price increase, if there is one, will be that drastic.

Don't make fun of that L.L. Bean WRX fleece. I was wearing mine. SOA gave it to me when I went to Detroit. So whatever, it's free.

Oh, I thought I'd add this little bit of humor. We were walking by the Lexus area and noticed a bunch of umm...pubescent kids all hooping and hollering around the Alteza (IS300). They were all staring at the tail lights. Hahaha.

There were certainly no shortage of SUVs and Trucks there. I guess when you move to the South and the capital of the Confederacy you shouldn't expect the newest turbocharged Japanese rally-inspired car to be at the autoshow that is right next to the NASCAR track. Especially a SUBARU... I don't think the SouthEast is a real big Subaru market. Last November I drove to Pence Subaru (nearest dealership to where I work) and asked if there was a WRX waiting list yet? He kind of chuckled. I don't think he knew what was coming. He told me they sell 2 RSs a year if they were lucky, and I don't think he expected many people to come asking about WRXs Imprezas.

Is it a Richmond Dealer getting the demo? If so I'll have to go take a look after work sometime this week.
I shouldn't make fun of the fleece. I'll probably end up buying one... hehe.

if thats true thats the stupidest move ive ever heard. 24K for the car maybe a deal now, but not even that price will be a deal in a year, with all the new preformance cars comin out for the good prices. who u would a WRX for 27k when they could find the new Z for just as much, or buy the new V spec sentra fro 18k or the new RS-X for 18k, the new civic type R for under 18k (both these cars will be faster than the current ITR which is WRX's only import comepetitor right now), and a crap load of others. subaru should be decrease its price when the new cheap competition comes out not increase the price.

Talking

2 things will always make the WRX special.

1. All Wheel Drive
2. It's a Subaru

Even at 27k, the car would be a bargain

just my opnion but i dont 27 is a good price for this car. Now if it came with leather racing recaros and a decent stereo and a sun roof, then maybe. But the new 1.8t a4 is gonna be in that price range and i would much rather have that bad ass car than a subaru. In all honesty the only subaru i would pay 30 for would be a sti, but even if it comes here which i dont think it will it will be over 35 grand, and that will be rediculous for the level of performance that u get. U can make a standard wrx run faster and handle better than that for half the price of the sti upgrade. Besides if the evo comes to america, then see u later scoob. IMHO it looks better and will perform better than the wrx sti
