It says "could not find the main class:Utij.Utij.app.Program will exit" when I try to open Uti.jar. What does that mean?

Are you sure you downloaded the full zip file? There should be a folder with libraries in it, and some other folders too. Also, if you just open the zip and try to run it won't work, you have to unzip it into its own folder on your hard drive.

Does this facilitate tuning using UTEC in speed density mode, or just MAF based? I see the screenshots show some MAF tabs.

Jeff has stated that it does support speed density. You just have to change the "fuel mode" in the settings tab.

On another note, I have tried and tried to start the UTI program but can't. I have double clicked on the jar file and it just goes to winzip to unzip where it extracts the other files,. I have searched google for he answer, but till no joy. I have the latest java software too.

Cheers

It shouldn't be opening in WinZip. Something is off in your Java config. Try opening the file with your JRE/JVM and see if that works. You might have to change the default application for the .jar extension. What Java software did you install?

All sorted. Winzip was hijacking my file extension. Downloaded jarfix and all is well!

Cheers.

The newest version of UTI requries JRE 7, found here:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...ad-432155.html

ensure that you have this, I bet this is the problem.

The problem is that sometimes I forget to do the simplest things. I pretty much did not extract the zip file and was trying to open it directly from the zipped folder.

That's what happens when I play with computers later in the night. Anything interesting to know about the newest program? Anything that doesn't work?

Default Did not get a reply to email so I thought I would post here.

I finally got all of the pieces to the puzzle installed this weekend. I have a 2005 baja turbo 5 speed and I am using an STI UTEC and an innovate lc-1 wideband.

The UTI program works great. I have some awesome 3rd gear pulls saved and some excellent cell hits on the tables. I do have a couple of questions that may seem stupid to some of you guys that have been using this setup for a bit.

1. When using speed density fuel tuning in UTI do I have to setup the UTEC in hyperterminal first to be able to use this function or does UTI do that for me?

2. I am trying to write a map with the logs and tables I have in UTI ME. One problem I am having is when I use the "Import tables" function I get tables with all zeros. I am pulling the tables file from the UTI folder (tables.csv)

3. Right now I am logging using map 0 on the UTEC (stock), should I be using a blank map on 1? Just not sure if it's okay to use the stock map for logging or not. I want to be able to write a nice map for it.

Any help you can provide to a new user would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I took the utec out since there is very little support for it anymore. it's in the dumpster if anyone wants it. Going with open source.

If you seriously took it out then I won't bother answering, but if you were just joking then I will answer.

I agree, buying the utec was the dumbest idea ever.

I get an answer to my questions on the romraider forums within minutes and I do not have to purchase any software. I find it easier to understand and tune with anyhow.

How exactly did you wait weeks? You posted a question about the software in the thread about the software and the author responded in a few days.

Where I work we pay upwards of 90k for software and don't even necessarily get a support contract. You pay $25 and want immediate answers. Btw most of the answers to your questions are in the utec manual, RTFM.

I used email first after not getting response I posted the question here. This app is being used on baja and the strange thing is that even with the software the dashboard wasn't showing up. I even went ahead and called turbo xs and they wanted nothing to do with me. I got a lot of I don't know and what's the deal answers from them. I understand open source a lot better than I do the utec. I was being sarcastic when I said I threw it away actually have the utec here it is in great condition it works just fine. 130 bucks shipped takes it. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/pts/2855487693.html
