AVCS stopped working
08 STI. --> I have a new Outfront MS 2.5 1000maxHP motor. Some old parts were reused, such as the solenoids for the AVCS system, wire harness, etc. While doing a WOT log for a tune, the AVCS stopped working during a WOT Pull. Has anyone ever seen this? Both cams stop working at same time. Is this electric, mechanical, or something else? I am interested in getting some opinions before I start replacing my solenoids, wire harness, etc.
I was doing a log with EcuTek, and did not understand if they have technical issues? They sometimes do not make the updates available they need to make detailed logs occur, as was done in a previous case I had with EcuTek. Does anyone believe this is an EcuTek program problem, A solenoid problem, or an electrical problem? I was waiting to fix this problem before I can continue with an updated tune. Thanks for any information and opinions

This is a necro bump but maybe it will help some one.
I had an issue similar to this a few years ago on a jdm swap with an 04 ECU. I logged gear position and noticed that sometimes it would randomly log a neutral position (which was definitely not true). This would cause AVCS to become disabled. I think what I did to fix it was short the neutral position switch on the transmission harness. If anyone is having this same issue you could try logging gear position and see if the ecu is seeing neutral instead of gear when the avcs cuts out. |
