Question Windshield Wipers?

anyone replace their wipers? and if so which did you get...the plastic replacement or the stock wiper(metal one)?

i got the plastic ones but they look real cheap and flimsy....so i returned it....

and the stock one is metal and looks like it can be replaced by inserts rather then a new blade....

tell me what you got and if its better then the original part....
on my old car i bought the replacement plastic ones and they were horrible.....

maybe i m the only(neat freak :P ) who wants a well workin windshield wipers(jus like when i first bought my car) hahahah but it bothers me so much when i m driving and something hits the windshield and i
need the wipers to clean it off....sometimes i ll pull off the road just to clean it off....especially bird dookie

I've replaced the actual rubber blade, and kept the wiper unit for the passenger side, however the driver's side wiper is 1" longer and I'm yet to find a replacement blade in that size. All I've found was the entire plastic unit, which I don't want. The fit charts say that the shorter wiper should fit, but I figure Subaru designed the driver's side to be longer for a reason.......so the search continues.

I put Bosch Micro-edge wipers on my RS. You can either buy the refills for your stock frames or buy the whole frame / blade assembly. Not sure about the cost, but I like them.

I use the Bosch ones as well (just the refills). It's like $8 or $9 for a set of two, and I get the one size for the driver side and the smaller size for the passenger arm (it's like 17 and 19 or 19 and 21 I think). You get two blades in each refill, so I just save the second blade for later .

I just put on new wipers too. Long story, but I have a Bosch Micro-Edge on the Driver's side, 21 inch, and a PIAA silicone wiper on the Passenger's side, 18 inch. The Bosch were $11 each for the entire wiper, and the PIAAs were $22, and both just snap right on. Incidentally, PIAAs definitely do not perform twice as good, so unless you like the imitation silver-paint CF look, go Bosch for a better buy.
