Default Duralast GT Brake Pads

I have now been using these brakes since June 2018. I started looking for options as I was overheating the stock Brembo pads with my spirited driving. I switched to the Duralast Gold and found they handled about the same, went to the MAX and they still heated faster than the Brembo. I then tried the GT which for some reason were cheaper than the MAX when I bought them...dunno how that happened lol. Anyway the GTs of course have their fancy wrapping and carbon fiber print shim. The driving felt great, initial bite is awesome, it is a bit noisy stopping, sounds like its metal on metal grinding especially at slow speeds. I have not yet over heated them doing same driving as before. My rotors lost their surface etching (put new rotors on last Jan) pretty fast with the switch but do not appear to have much wear on them using my fingernail to check top edge and center hub. Today I noticed the pads were a little quieter so maybe they are finally mating to the rotor, on my next set i will be cutting the edges 45 degrees to see if that helps alleviate the noise. The pad wear seems to also be very low and has less dusting than the Brembo pads. Only downside seems to be that my local area only maintains 1 set in stock at all times so if anyone buys them when I need to replace them I have to wait a little.

update as I was looking at my rotors yesterday, found nice groove etched into passenger side like a rock had made its way in there...also found lip forming on rotors, so these pads are pretty rough on the duralast cheapo rotors, when they are past usable I will switch to the Brembo rotor as they are marginally more through autozone (100 vs 60) still brake great during spirited driving and daily driving, I think the gold pads I have on the back may be the actual grinding sound I hear...
