Killer B Motorsport meets Custom Fabrication
If we opened our doors to custom fabrication - would you bring your car to us?

I've been kicking around a build idea for ages. But I just don't have time anymore to make progress on it.

If you were anywhere near me I would.
Half the stuff on a modded car ends up custom fabbed... All you'd need then would be a dyno & tuner and you could be a full performance shop that also manufactures & sells parts. I'm a DIY guy with anything that can just be installed but I've no doubt people would take their car to you to get you to install a bunch of YOUR parts, and anyone like me would take their car to you to fab anything they can't just install themselves so... It actually seems like an awful lot of business you're missing out on. |

If you were not 5000 miles away I would be all over it.
I think that might be the challenge. Focusing on Subaru's gives you a niche, but your customer base is spread out because not everyone is building Subaru's to your level of quality. I think that is probably why the big custom fab, performance shops specialize on multiple platforms so they can distribute their quality seeking customer base among more customers, I imagine the platform has a lot to do with that too, you don't see many low quality parts on Porsche's, or GTR's. Or maybe you just never hear about those guys =) |

I have some custom fab needs, but 5 hour drive is just a bit too far.

That's the nice thing about fabrication. It's not brand specific. I'm fortunate to get to work on anything from Porsche roll cages, to stretching quarter panels on a 69 camaro to doing a solid axle swap and 4 link on an 86 corolla.
Good luck Chris. Hopefully you get a variety of cars. Quality work is hard to find. |

Hi Chris,
Like others have said, if you weren't several states away I'd love to have you guys perform said custom work. Already had your uppipe modified for my rotated setup. One shop I'd gone to in the past (how I wish I could've changed that decision) had cars flatbedded in from a distance; Maybe you could offer some kind of discount for people sending in cars on a flatbed a certain distance away. Just a thought. |

I'm in Alabama, a full day's drive but easily doable. I'm on the way...
Seriously, I need fab work soon. My engine is knocking and I'd love for you guys to do some work on my redo. |

I don't say Blah-Blah-Blah...
Quality fab work is something that unfortunately has been dying off, and quickly becoming "something of the past" I believe in our specific community.
Take a look back 8-10 years. Our community had really hit it's stride, and the word of the Subaru and it's capabilities were spreading like wildfire. Come that point we had how many builds pasted to print? Chris Dunbar's Hawkeye. Will's JDM Peanut in Seattle. Brain Child's bugeye legend on the east coast (versions I an II). Dmoney's Blurple Bugeye. Clark Turner's original JDM V7 swap. The list goes on, and on and on... Some truly remarkable builds. For a brief period the community had set it's sights on the TA world and it seemed like everyone was getting in on the fun. Remember the all carbon fiber bodied build that 3Dyne did for COBB? Or how about the TOMEI/CUSCO STI that Tarzan brought over? The ZeroSports car? Element Tuning STI? TIC NASA build? Racecomp? Topspeed? Now the shift of focus has made it's way back to the quarter mile. V8 Bait, Jr, IAG and Prime Motoring are consistently feeding new updates to the social media beasts, and pushing the limits of what is physically possible for our 60ft times and total eclipsed passes (Remember Big Valley's STI out of San Juan back in the early days?). Willall Racing has completely redefined what is "possible" for an EJ257 based engine design, and it seems like Mitsubishi has finally thrown in the towel with keeping the fire of redesigned engineering pushing forward (death of the EVO platform). Personally speaking, I'd love to see a swing back towards people doing large custom builds again. Hell... I know I'm speaking out my a_s right now, but I'd love to have some representation here in the Southern California area. Seriously. What is currently here? Nearly every single place that comes to mind is more simply focused on items that can be installed, not fabricated. I can tell you that if I were closer to you guys, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to take my car to you guys for work. It would be amazing to see a company with a stellar reputation of work performed, step up to the plate to tackle this market. Sorry for the rant. Peace -TurboTod |

I'm in SoCal and I fabricate literally everything on my STI, even my brothers Evo. Some Audi R8's, Lamborghinis, even a few Ferraris.
Instagram @charlesboster #charlesboster On my Instagram it's mostly my STI and very few of the EVO I have been a booth car for Outfront Motorsports, AEM Electronics as well as HAWK Performance I have even been in D-Sport magazine. |

OK to ask a question bump? We have your oil pan on our 2.5L. What is the actual oil capacity? The builder changed the dipstick or tube or both but we're not sure it's correct.

I'm not looking for a custom project however I am looking for a clutch master cylinder brace for my 04 STi. RalliTEK sells one for the newer models, but it does not fit on the GD because of the location of the heater core hoses.
Here is a link to the product - https://www.rallitek.com/braces/1061...2008-2011.html Considering you have a picture of a 04/05 STi on this thread & on the front page of the Killer B Motorsport Subaru Performance Products catalog ... Would this be possible? |

Stainless catback exhaust with large apexi 156-a017 capacity muffler with two resonators inline. Oh wait, have to find someone a wee bit closer.
I'd actually prefer some brackets that would adapt my Perrin FMIC to bolt to my 95 frame or bumper, but few are about that life. It maybe something I can handle with some locally sourced aluminum stock and a lot of drilling and cutting. Last edited by 2slofouru; 03-02-2018 at 11:13 PM. |

I would be interested if you guys offered some sort of remote fab design. For instance, I plan on removing the rear seats in my 2013 WRX hatch along with the rear cargo tray, spare tire/wheel etc. I then plan on fabricating a custom cargo bed that spans from just behind the front seats all the way to the rear bumper. 11s 1/4 mile times are a dime a dozen but what about a 12.0 1/4 mile while hauling a 1/4 cord of firewood!
Anyway, to get the fit and finish I want, I would need to rent/hire/operate a laser scanner for the mounting points and do a lot of CAD work that is a bit beyond me. Maybe you guys have some people who could sell their services? Hell I would pay some $ just to get accurate interior hardpoint dimensions. Just my 2 cents. |
