I adjusted the right hood stopper on my car because the right side of the hood was wobbling pretty bad, the next day my LEFT low beam was out.
I doubt my high's have even half the usage that the low beams have but, I was thinking about replacing all of them anyway. The 9011's definitely seem like the crowd favorite for high beam.... To the other 06/07 owners out there, which H7 bulbs should I purchase to get better results over the stock bulbs??

Before I order lights for my 2000 Impreza RS I want to be sure I'm getting the right ones. It looks like the H4/9003 Narva RangePower+50's are one of the better (best/brightest?) bulbs for my headlights. I just want to make sure, are the 55/60w bulbs are the right ones for my car?
Thanks for any help! |

Sorry for the delay in posting back. I'm not sure which bulb your car uses, but the on-line lamp guides (google "automotive lamp replacement guide") and ones in parts houses will tell you correctly.

With is getting dark sooner and sooner I driving more I need to get some new bulbs bad for my 08.
Are the H9 showing up more in the stores? Last I looked trying to find the H11 was hard. Trying to find a H9 was horrable. Napa could not even order them. I know I have to mod the H9 a little to work in the H11 socket. That little tab and a dremel should fix the issue very fast. |

Finally was able to post a picture of the beams and cutoff from my HID install (approx 25 feet away from garage door). Glare in windshield and speckles are from car approaching from left as I shot this photo.

I want to do a before and after shot with the H11 to the H9. Show the temp differance on the wire and socket. I know some people are worried about the wires and socket getting over heated. I would rather show the temps off a probe instead of just saying how it feels. Anything else I should check on this mod or does anyone else have any questions about the mod? I will test it out as I do it. |

My headlight housing covers on the inside felt really hot after the mod.. but they might have before too, I dunno. It is cold weather here now so I am not worried in the least. I am conscious of it though and on hot days next summer I won't ever idle with low beams on for no reason. On cold or rainy/snowy days I don't think twice about it. It has been fine for the past couple months for me and I love the extra light from the low beams. That's all I can say though, no melted wire harness or headlight housing yet. I doubt I will ever have a problem, but you never know. I would just keep an eye on it and don't do anything foolish. Basically don't push your luck with "testing" and don't leave low beams on while not moving any longer than needed. Just common sense stuff really.

Waiting for it to get a little darker to install the H9 so I can show how differet the light is. My housing and wire started off at 69F. After just having the lights on for 10min with the stock bulbs the housing heated up to 132F and the wires heated up to 77F. I got both of the H9 filed down. It took me less then 10min each.

an HID kit would be bad in a headlight housing with reflectors.
now if one has projectors their car, wouldn't a plug and play HID kit work with proper beam cut off? or would one have to keep using halogen bulbs in their projectors? |

I recently picked up Osram Night Breaker +90 bulbs in H4 for my girls car and H3 for my factory fog lights. I was skeptical at first when I saw the slight blue tint on the glass of the bulbs.
The difference in light between these bulbs and stock bulbs were amazing! I have no pictures for proof, but I am very happy with how bright these are and so is the lady. I also replaced my stock bugeye headlight bulbs with the Philips +80 bulbs. Also a great improvement in light output. The actual color of the bulb is very similar if not the exact same as the stock bulb color. At first I thought I would like this, but after seeing the difference in light output with the combination on the whiter bulb, I really wish the Osram +90 bulbs made a bulb that would fit my headlight. Still very happy with both brands. In the past, I have ran plug n' play hid systems, sylvania silverstars, narva yellow and several colored PIAA bulbs. The +90's are by far the best bulbs I have ever spent money on and I will continue to run them in the future. The +80's came in a close second. |
