Default AC intermittent (Control module?)

So I have a somewhat stock 07 with the semi-auto AC controls. (Three knobs with a temp setting.) And on cold starts the compressor does not kick in. I know is is not the temp sensor as the blower is on hard. And after about 5 minutes if I cycle the compressor off and on (Right button) or turn the entire system off and on, (Center knob) a few times, it will eventually kick in and blow cold and work fine. Has anyone seen anything like this? It is not the Freon level, and the compressor dryer and expansion valve were replaced last year.

Just trying to get feedback before I start swapping expensive parts in a game of wack a mole. Oh, and 292k miles...

Turned out it was a failing relay. Easy to find once it fully failed.

By the way, for some reason I immediately thought that this was the problem.
