I believe the 06-07 (my Hawkeye has plastic) switched over to a plastic tank but earlier gen had metal.

I'm guessing he just re-used the rubber seal? I talked to a Subaru restoration shop in the UK that also said they re-use the seal with no issues. I've always found it interesting that Subaru would not make that seal available.

It's equally as crazy that the bolts that hold the top portion on are not available either. I just refinished a jdm Spec C coolant tank and would love the exact same new OEM bolts to finish it off, but they are super difficult to find. I've searched around in the engine bay looking for the same M6x1.0 with the little "9B" (or 9.8?) to no avail.

You are correct, he did not open the tank up but rather flushed it thoroughly and then prepped for paint. I haven’t tried looking for seal or bolts.

Damn! Sucks about the Honda. I wasn't expecting to see you buy a 2020 STi though. Congrats!

Thank you I may be partial but agree lol. First year that Mitsubishi won the WRC. It has a lot of historical value to me and others.

I am also a former EVO owner. They are great & capable cars. Back in the day I owned a 2006 EVO IX GSR. Really miss that car.

Agreed, I’ve always wanted one. I was finally in a position to where I could buy it last winter, so the process started. Never thought I’d own one from Japan.

Can’t go wrong, it is a little pricey for what it is but to me it was well worth the money.

Does the STI logo on it light up? I've heard conflicting information, that the old part number one does and this "New" version one does not?

If this the case?

Sti logo itself does not light up, just the other characters engine, start, stop do. But they are discontinuing these as well from what I’m told. I like that it all lights up red at night.

Nice. I wonder what they are going to replace it with.

Good question, they must have something in place as that is a standard factory part in Japan market for their vehicles. They will need something to replace it surely.

Installed the OEM JDM rear fog/brake light last week. No big plans for this car, just oem+ and some JDM bits.

Just messing around in the garage with my GoPro this evening. I always liked the wide angle capability on these.
