Growing up in the golden age of automotive forums in the late 90s and early 2000s I have grown tired of Facebook groups and IG picture accounts. NASIOC is still here and it’s time I got back to it!
One of my many Subaru projects is my 2014 WRX premium sedan. Purchased used with 15k miles it was all stock. As the thread progresses I’ll explain why the WRX has STI side badges and interior as it will be asked lol. All work on this project has been competed by myself and I take great pride in my quality of my workmanship. I’ll add more details and mod list when I have more time to add to this initial post! Engine -IAG stage 3 plus -D25 heads with Kelford 272 cams, GSC valves and GSC beehive springs -Cobb FMIC -Garrett GTX3076R gen II -ETS V2 header with rotated up-pipe -Milltek catback exhaust -IAG tgv deleted under STI ported intake manifold -ID1300 injectors -Cobb flex fuel and fuel pressure sensor with Cobb fuel rails -Walbro 525 in Visconti hanger managed by I-wire hardwire kit with GTR pump controller -Tial BOV and EWG -Cobb radiator shroud -Cobb belt cover -Cobb battery hold Suspension -Feal 441+ coilovers -2017 STI front lower control arms -2019 STI brembos -2017 STI knuckle assembly -RCE sway bars -SPC lower rear control arms -Super Pro roll center adjustment -Cusco chassis bracing Drivetrain -2017 STI 6 speed trans / r180 diff -2017 STI axles -ACT Mod-twin HD street -Group N engine, trans mount and pitch stop Exterior -OEM chrome xenons (originally halogen) -JDM STI extended front lip -JDM STI Ts spoiler -STI turn signal mirrors -Impreza trunk Interior -JDM radio bezel -DAMD steering wheel -Overland leather wrapped bits Wheels -Volk Rays TE37sl Diamond Black 18x10 w/ Firestone Indy 500 in 275/35/18

First couple months of owning it was basic stage 2 engine mods and suspension. Several wheel changes in that time frame.

Certain taste come and go. Cheap FMIC w/ stock turbo and an interesting color choice on Rays 57Extreme ***129315;
Was running Koni yellows in narrow body 08 wrx strut housings, 08 housing were 1/2 lower than later years and added some camber. Quickly grew out of the mustard color ***129315;***129318; Last edited by Lancaster; 03-02-2020 at 08:42 PM. |

After running the usual stage 2 issue free it was time for a slight engine upgrade with a fresh STI block, crank and rods paired with CP pistons. Converted to an STI intake manifold and aftermarket STI top mount with Blouch 1.5xtr and E85. Made 430whp and 380wtrq to save the original 5 speed.

Much needed 6 speed swap came in from a low mile 2017 STI... 1400 miles!!! Along with the Brembo and knuckle assembly. Paired with an Iwire DCCD controller using oem DCCD switches. Deleted the Sdrive knob as it’s not usable with the WRX ecu. Top mount pulled some heat soak so went to Cobb for an excellent performing and amazing fitting FMIC

After a wastegate spring increase and the 6 speed we pushed 460whp and 445wtrq out of it but were at the limits of the STI rods and Blouch 1.5xtr.
Time to get real! Always a sucker for a rotated turbo! We have a rotated 07 STI limited and I just had to have one in the 14. Set out with a goal of 600whp. After many conversations with my Tuner Corbin at Johnson Tuning it was decided to use the Garrett GTX3076R gen 2. Picked the supporting fuel mods and began to build the engine. Right away went with an IAG stage 3 plus closed deck block. Paired it with fresh D25 casting heads with a pocket port performed by my ( was a little nervous ***129315; ). Sent heads to IAG to install GSC stock size stainless valves and beehive springs. Also had them clearance for Kelford 272 cams and lash set with new lifter buckets. Assembled the engine at my home garage and dropped her in! Money shot!!! |

After break in Corbin at Johnson Tuning pushed 607whp on the Dynojet meeting my goal of 600!
Side note that was overshadowed by my wife’s 07 STI pushing out 777whp the very next day! My wife’s 07 we built at the same time lol |

Some smaller details about the car. I can’t use an STI cluster without a lot of work! So as I don’t have Sdrive anyway I moved the STI bezel with Cherry Blossom accents over to the WRX gauge face.

That’s dope. I thought you just swapped the STI cluster. So cool it’s a hybrid of the two
