lighted keyhole ring, can we get one?
Is the lighted keyhole ring in the 03 wrx a part that we can order from the dealer? If so, does anyone know the part number?

I'm dying to know how/why....
If its not on when you walk up to the car, what's the point? Right? If its on when you're driving, what's the point, right? If you have to find the keyhole to touch it to get it to light up, what's the point? Right? What am I missing here? jason |

That's like lighting up your GF's "special area." If you're already in the area and you still need help finding it, maybe you should practice a little more .
Seriously though... it looks kinda neat. more interior lights. I'm pretty sure its good for 12 points of snaz. -IggDawg |

It is tied to your interior light. It lights up when you open the door and then slowly fades after a few second.

you have to replace the whole key section
meaning... $151.42 retail plus install and changing the key. I guess I'll pass on this mod... |

GC/GF key light
A while ago, I found out about a part called "key light", p/n 84661AA050, and bought it for $5. However it turned out to be just the keyhole rim, w/o any bulb holder. In fact, this part may be the same as the trim piece already on the car. What I don't know is whether the bulb fixture mounts in the lock housing, or attaches to the ring (it has a protrusion with an elongated hole in it). In the latter case, a different lock may not be needed. Some day, I'll open the steering column and find out.
