importing parts from japan to usa - duties?
Does anyone have experience with duties and shipping for parts coming into the usa from Japan? Looking at sea mail / surface mail. If something was sent sea mail, who is the last mile carrier here in the usa? I assume USPS?
Also for taxes, is the only fee whatever the percentage is for that part that is listed on the government's HS tariff code site? Any surprising fees? Broker fees? Commissions? etc? Hoping someone can shed some light. Been googling all day and havent found anything but pretty sure the info is out there somewhere. Thank you!

Depends on how much you're bringing in. I've bought a few sets of wheels from overseas and the value was low enough that I didn't have to pay any duties. I think if it's under $750-850 USD in value, there aren't any tariffs.
But I'm probably wrong... |
