DCCD binding issues, not electrical
I'm running a V8 JDM 6MT with DCCD ran by a DCCDpro in my GD rallycross car. The transmission is used quite hard and has been through a few broken axles.
That being said, there is something wrong with my DCCD. Even with the controller disconected from the transmission, the diff stays locked. With the car fully in the air and the hand brake on, clutching out in 1st kills the engine. DCCD solenoid reads 1.9ohm on the multimeter. I think the issue might be one of 2 possibilities: -Clutch plates have warped/stuck togeter due to abuse. -A planetary pin is backing out and putting pressure on the clutch pack. Apparently the pins backing out is a 'common' problem with these but not much info out there about it. I found this: https://fb.watch/3a9GEnSGCF/ Anyone else has had a binding DCCD issue that was mechanical? What was it?

So here's an update. I finally pulled the DCCD to inspect it. As I suspected some planetary gear pins had backed out. 3 to be exact. You can see the marks on the disk.
It's a bit easier to see the recessed pins on this side: I have to figure out a way to push them back in and make sure they stay put. Last edited by Crazyced; 11-08-2021 at 10:02 PM. |

I'm looking at the same repair. How has everything held up so far? How do the MSI plates compare to the OEM ones? Wondering if they are worth the extra $100 |

So far so good but the car hasn't seen much use since. Issue is definitly fixed however. I couldn't tell how much better if any the moorsport stuff is as it't mostly durability changes.
