How the crap did my car [2005 RS with manual] gain almost 300 pounds in one model year? The 2006 2.5i is a fappin' porker by comparison. Maybe the equal length headers weigh a lot...or perhaps the extra bits for the variable intake cam trick?!

Not true, my first Impreza was a '98 RS with an automatic transmission.

I went up 620 pounds from my first GL wagon to my WRX wagon. I also went up nearly 200 hp.

Updated again. Updated everything but the old school bonus and legacy stats.

I MASSIVLY reformated how I setup the list in order to better fit it as a post. Abreviations are used heavily now, let me know if its confusing or not...

I doubt it. Unless it really is a hatch and it gets significantly smaller.

Now that I think about it my 95 felt like it too.

What about SVX's
My 95 FWD L weighs 1000 lbs less than my 06 STI. My STI also has nearly triple the HP and torque though, so that kinda makes up for the extra half ton.

By the way, on my title, the weight of my FWD L is listed at 2690 lbs, which is the weight for the AWD model. In FL, if your car weighs 2499 lbs or less, you pay $8 less for registration. I tried to tell the lady at the DMV that my car weighs 2400 lbs, but she said she has to go by what it says on my title. Apparently my car was titled incorrectly at the dealer and to get it changed, I'd have to go get the car weighed myself. Not worth my time or my gas to save $8.

The evo x is supposedly ~200lbs heavier than the ix.
As cars get more and more electronics, safety devices (more airbags, stability control), and features, the weight will continue to creep up.
Of course those heavier new cars feature more power as well.
Does anyone have the weights for the 07 impreza line?

Nice list. It is kinda accurite kinda not. My 90 legacy wagon M AWD L is 3090 on the scale. My 95 wagon legacy M AWD L is 3020 on the scales. My 95 coupe impreza M AWD L is 2750 on the scales though with alot of extra stuff. This is with tire and jack with varying amounts of fuel so weights might vary 20# here and there but I think every car weighed had atleast quarter of a tank.

Depending what options you get the weight will vary. It would be nice if you had the weights of all the different options but that would be one hell of a list. Like my impreza. It came with all wheel disk, ABS and a power sun roof. It didnt come with power windows or door locks. Things like that make it hard to get the weight from a book but it does give a good ballpark.

These are not actual "weighed the car" weights, these are Service Manual Specification Curb Weights. While they may not be "real world" accuraute, they are accurate for compairing one model to another over the years as the process for that has not changed.

Ironmonkey, ill look over your info tonight and add it when I have time. Thanks
