Paul miller is a pretty reputable franchise. Also avoid bill kolb and Subaru world of newton like the plague. Dealt with both and I would rather chop my hands off then do that again

Default Not Ramsey Subaru!

I went there to see about a 2012 Impreza they had listed on their web site as "in transit." The salesman, Dayton Lau, AFTER CHECKING WITH THE SALES OFFICE (Josh Jacobson, sales mgr.) told me it was available, and asked if I wanted to put a deposit on it. We made a deal, which he also verified with the sales office, and he took my deposit. The car was on their current allocation, so his "2 to 3 weeks" estimate of its ETA sounded reasonable. Well, either it was already taken or they didn't care for the deal, because after stringing me along for two weeks, WITH THE CAR STILL LISTED ON THE WEB SITE, I found out that the car had already been sold and delivered to someone else - with no similar car due in until probably March. I'm sure you can imagine how it felt to have been misled and manipulated this way. The sales manager refused to accept any responsibility, and tried to say it was an honest mistake on the part of his hapless salesman. If you can buy that, maybe you'll want to do business with these people. Good luck. (There's a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in too!)

As for a positive recommendation, I'm now awaiting delivery of a car at Welsh Subaru of Limerick, PA. So far I've found them to be exemplary. I should have the car within a week or so - I'll report back then.

I live in bergen county, and bought my '11 STi from Bill Kolb. A salesman, named Gary, was very helpful and took care of me. I don't know if the other salesmen over there have bad rep but from what i experienced, i thought it was quick and easy. I was careful about picking my dealership so I did some research. Bill Kolb got a lot of bad reviews but I had to see it in person. Visiting dealerships are very helpful!

Ive had a reasonable expierence from Newton. Are you talking about the old or new one? So far at the new location, ive just had servicing done and cant really complain.

While i had the control arms checked, i tried selling a subaru to a lady that was waiting for a salesperson for 40 minutes. . Maybe thats what you are talking about

Bill Kolb Jr Subaru in Orangeburg NY is THE WORST. I bought my 98 Outback Sport there and the salesman was outstanding, but quickly moved on. I traded in my Sport for a WRX wagon in 2002 and realized quickly after that that the Bill Kolb regime is THE WORST. There is really too much to list to back up my reasons for saying this, so I will simply say that I just ordered a new 2012 WRX, and I did it at Ramsey Subaru. And while the jury is still out on Ramsey from my persepctive, I would bet the house that they cannot on their worst day even possibly be as bad as Bill Kolb Jr Subaru on their best.

That's not encouraging. I've got a new car on order with them, guess I'll be posting at some point whether it turned into a horror story or not...

I can assure you its not what you are reading. You will not have a horror story to post. If you need anything I am the manager my name is Josh Jacobson. You cannot please everyone and we are human. The salesman made a mistake and he took it like we did it to him maliciously.

Again if you need anything please let me know.

Default Well Just Smell That (Red) Herring!

Sure - just make it up. (I thought there was something fishy about Ramsey Auto Group!) If you can't counter the charges, try and deflect the issue by pleading not guilty to something else (however idiotic). Anyone find any suggestion in my review of maliciousness on their part? As for not being able to please everyone, well I can't argue with that; especially when you subject them to dishonesty, incompetence, and complete lack of regard. That is what I charged them with, not maliciousness, and I repeat those charges without qualification.

When I spoke to a ZAG rep about this, he said it was perfectly clear to him that the car was sold out from under me for a better price. He asked me if Ramsey offered to find me a car from another dealership, which they're supposed to do as a ZAG participating dealer; they did not. And why not? Could it be because the car was in too short supply for them to get one for a low enough price? The ZAG guy asked me the name of the sales manager, and when I told him, he said, 'oh yeah, we've heard about him before,' and that they would be investigating with an eye toward suspension or expulsion from the program. I mean, who knows anymore? but that's what he said, and he promised to report back to me. Haven't heard yet, but I will follow up if necessary.

Meanwhile, as to Mr. Jacobson's plaintive cry that the salesman just made a human mistake, and I reacted disproportionately, keep the tartar sauce handy: Direct quotes from Jacobson's emails to me: "If you were mislead by Dayton which I highly doubt I understand your frustration." (Hence he adds liar or idiot to the list of my shortcomings.) "I understand why you are angry however when I just wanted to explain to you that I had nothing to do with the deal and I wanted to talk it over with Dayton you got angry and hung up on me." (A completely self-serving version of the conversation. As I mentioned in the review, Dayton checked repeatedly with the sales office as we did the deal. When Jacobson started dancing around this on the phone, I had definitely had enough, but I did not raise my voice; I simply said, 'Alright, thank you very much,' and hung up. Sorry if that offended his delicate weasel sensibilities.) And finally, "The car you were referring to was ordered for someone else. I don't know how Dayton could have messed that up." Well I can't imagine either. Can you?

I got mine from Wayne Subaru after having horrible service at Ramsey. Ramsey Subaru had a 2011 PBP STi on their showroom with 5000 miles and they wanted 35k for it. My dad wanted to negotiate with them, so the salesman had us talk. to the manager. The manager was the most obnoxious person by telling my dad that he is on drugs if he wants to negotiate a price on a used car with 5000 miles for sticker price...

I bought my wrx there in 2007. That is when this company was well run with the other manager.

I am actually looking and doing research on a new 2012 STI and after doing some research, the majority of the lower prices for these have been in NJ. does anyone have any good things to say about Ramsey Subaru in particular? that where the lower priced ones are at this time.

I bought my 11 WRX at Ramsey and had my 08 WRX serviced there many times. I really can't say enough good about them. Talk to Corey and Josh they'll take great care of you. I always look forward to going there and talking to them. As far as I'm concerned they really have their customer service in order, in all three departments. I've never left disappointed, and if I ever felt there was an issue the management has always taken the time to make things right for me. I've worked for a motorcycle dealership in the area myself for over 11 years which granted is inherently different in some ways, but I must say the way that they conduct business is absolutely on the up and up. They've never bs'd me and I appreciate that most of all.

I bought my 2012 wrx from Ramsey Subaru in Ramsey (dur) and they were very helpful the whole time until the day i went in to pick it up. I called multiple times to tell them i was coming in and never got a call back until i was 5 minutes away at around 6 o'clock. All in all i would definitely recommend going through them, plus they don't have a problem with mods and your warranty.

I can see this actually, the finance guy and the other sales guys were kinda cocky about being a subaru sales person.

If you are going to Ramsey Subaru, go ask for Alex P. he sold me my new wrx in 2007 with a great discount. I brought three friends there to him and soon my mom.

i happen to like ramsey subaru and wish i stumbled upon them earlier. they were the only ones that gave me a great price with no negotiation, unlike all of the other dealerships that said "come in and we'll talk about it," or several back and forth emails and ph conversations arriving at a way above invoice price. not to mention i ordered 1 from a certain bergen county dealership and still have yet to receive my deposit after cancelling the order (over a month ago). going to get a lawyer next week for my 500 deposit lol. whats wrong is wrong.

as far as having an sti on the lot, dont expect to get a discount because theyre in high demand in the NE. a good friend just sold his 07 to carmax last month for 27k.

feel free to contact me and i can forward you to the right guy.

man will they ever stop pulling that non refundable deposit scam. Lets stay away from that dealership, I hope you get your money back from them. There weren't many jersey dealerships that I had faith in so I went to upstate ny and pa for my shopping needs.

Stay away from Town Motors as well. I purchased my '12 from them when they were running a program for an extra year of warranty and 24k miles, and a month later (once I owned the car) they canceled the added security policy. I called them up as soon as i discovered the change, and spoke to the General Manager who assured me it was a mistake and my car was supposed to be included in the program.

Supposedly, they had a batch of cars assigned to them that were mistakenly added to the program and they made the mistake of tagging my car in that allocation. Feeling reassured, I thanked him and hung up.

Fast forward 2 weeks, and I'm on the mysubaru website looking to update my maintenance. Lo and behold, my added protection plan is still disabled. I call SoA and talk to a very nice rep named Jerry. I explain the situation and ask him to contact the dealer on my behalf. He agrees, and a few days later I receive a call from Jerry explaining the General Manager told him that my car should not have this added protection program.

I explain to him that the GM told me the opposite, and that I was concerned that I was being defrauded of something included in what I purchased. Jerry asks me if I have any documentation showing I do in fact have this added protection plan. First, I look through my emails and forward the coversation I had with the sales rep where they explained that the particular car I was looking at was included in the added protection program. Afterward, I go home and open up my folder containing all the documents I received when I bought the car, take a picture of my documentation, and send it along to Jerry.

A little while later I receive an email from Jerry indicating this was exactly what he was looking for, and that he would ensure my added protection program was re-enabled. A few days later, I receive a call from Jerry explaining that he got my program re-enabled, and that they were going to add another year to my program due to the issues I experienced with Town Motors.

All in all, I made out fine because I kept all of my documentation. Town Motors, on the other hand, was very underhanded, telling me one thing, and SoA another. They never called me back to explain anything or provide any feedback related to the situation. I will never deal with them again. I would suggest you all avoid them like the plague.

I purchased my 2011 WRX sedan from Ramsey in March of 2011. I used the truecar.com website and found out that Ramsey matches their "true car price." I spoke to josh and purchased the car for 24.5k for a base model before fees. My experience with Ramsey was good and I wouldn't hesitate about buying another subaru from them.
