My wife has always been "I don't know how to ski powder". After seeing this video evidence of its blissfulness when everything comes together her tune is now "I don't know how to ski powder. But I could learn!" I would love to share a powder day with my wife and kids. |

On a related note, my K2 Mindbender 108 Ti skis were awesome in the powder. Floatation was fine with any reasonable pitch and when ripping down the back half of groomers laden with a powder topping to get another run in in our protected hour they were stable. 100% would pick them again.

Looking to replace my Soul 7s which I am very happy with. They are reasonably good on groomed runs, and wouldn't want the next ski to be much worse than them. In powder I am very happy with the Soul 7 ski but here awesome things about the K2 Mindbender 108. I have a pair of Line Sick Days 114 for HUGE dumps of snow. |

They carve fine on groomers with moderate edge angle applied. Effective edge length seems better than a lot of these floppy tip huge rocker clown shoe skis I see about. I remained happy with them all season, grabbing them off the rack no matter what the snow conditions. I had really old K2 Soul 7s iirc. These are stiffer for sure-I remember the souls to be super soft. Last edited by shikataganai; 04-22-2021 at 10:53 AM. |

Soul 7 HD (Rossi). They are reasonably stiff.
Thanks for the review. What length are you skiing again? |

I wish my Soul 7s were 180 on huge powder days, and think that it would be a better all around ski for my needs. The Sick Days are useless outside of powder (obviously). The nice thing is that the Sick Days don't ski like a 180 cm ski. Got my Soul 7s back this morning from a tune up and skiing tomorrow and the weekend |

Just bought a couple Silverton unguided passes w/ discount heli drop, so that'll be fun at the end of the season.

If you're in the market for new gear this year, buy it yesterday! I just ordered some boots straight from manufacturer and a handful of sizes were already sold out.

I need a new Ski/snowboard jacket. The one i've had for legit 20 years disintegrated last year. I have no idea what is quality any more, recommends? Brands? Where to buy from?
While I say it will be a snowboard jacket, its really going to spend 99% of its life as a play in the snow with kids and shovel the driveway jacket. I want to to be of decent quality and warmth of course though. I also need snowboard bindings as mine are wrecked but that is a simpler thing to figure out. |

I got a new one on sale this summer, a Flylow Albert. My wife got a jacket of theirs a while back and the quality seems good. I’d recommend checking them out. The one I got has insulation which might be too hot sometimes but makes it very nice for just throwing on over a light layer. I’ve already used it for cooler weather and liked it. |

I usually just give my old gear to the staff I work with as it buys good will, and I find that you are getting pennies on the dollar. The price of used gear has definitely gone up since the pandemic, so you could probably get at least 50% retail. Our local ski shops will take 'higher end' gear on consignment for a cut. Try starting at your local shop. Depending on your relationship with them they may help you out. The shop I use offered to take my used gear when I called them recently asking about a new set. FWIW we have bought 10 pairs of ski/bindings over the last 8 years from them. The amazing thing is the owner remembers exactly what skis/bindings he has sold us. His memory is ridiculous, and he clearly was meant to be in the sales business. Looking forward to the 21/22 season Have our seasons passes and also booked a week at Whistler for the spring. Just waiting for the snow to accumulate. |

Im thinking about something in that ballpark. I currently have volkl rtm 87 which are actually great for charging groomers with speed and stability but I suspect a wider ski underfoot would help with float in more cruddy conditions. Also I intentionally got these short for maneuverability with kids learning (177cm) and I will go longer on my next set. I am in a half ski half snowboard split now, skiing more frequently with the family and snowboarding more solo. My board setup is very nice. |

I got my skis from there. They were new but like 4 years old. Picked them up for $200. Original retail on them was around $800. As for brands - just seems to depend. Most brands will have good and bad products. Generally I like Marmot, usually size large, fits me well (6'3" 175 lbs). As for type of coat - all depends on personal preference. Generally the more water resistant/waterproof, the less the coat will breath. Insulated or non-insulated? Soft shell? Hard shell? They all have their uses. For me I'll usually go with a non-insulated or minimal insulated hard shell coat. Works well for most stuff. Just add layers if it'll be cold. Open vents or remove layers if you get too hot. |

Will be a lot easier to sell as less hassles with moving bindings. Agree on pricing where you want to minimize (not eliminate) the low ball offers, and making them come to you will make your life easier. Good luck! |
