TX: 2011 Subaru WRX STi Hatch (IAG Stage 2, FP Blue, FMIC, etc.)
Location: Austin, TX
Price: $$SOLD Mileage: 108,XXX Title: Rebuilt (rear end/side collision, professionally repaired by company in Wyoming) Trades: None at this time since I found a Forester STi Hi everyone, I'm selling (maybe trading) my 2011 STi hatchback. (I've also listed a blue 2011 STi sedan with similar mods, see my other ad if interested.) This hatch has been my daily for the last 5 years (purchased from an OCD mechanic in Dallas with 85k miles on it) and I've spent about $20k in mods and maintenance in the last year alone. The ceramic coating and two-stage paint correction was done within the last year as well. All performance work done by Jeff Petrus, a local Austin master mechanic, and nearly all the mods except short block have less than 15k miles on them. Nice looking car!
Any reliability issues? Does it use or leak any fluids? Any rust underneath? Due for tires/brakes/any maintenance? Why selling? Would you hop in and drive it across the country without any hesitation? What is the origin/nature of the rebuilt title? Pre-sorry, my wife's sense of smell is way better than is in my best interest: Smoked in? Odorous? Thanks, Jeff |

Great questions! Car is currently just waiting for a fuel pump connector to arrive after we found the wires fried a pin. But other than that, car is absolutely perfect (minus the no AC which I'll get diagnosed soon and a lot of us lost it after the cold front in Austin, TX a few weeks ago).
1. No reliability issues since the day I got it. I've always babied it and had my Subaru master mechanic do all the work and always look ahead to any potential issues. 2. No leaks and burns no oil. 3. No rust at all underneath. 4. Tires have ~8k miles on them. The nice newer Michelin All-Seasons that'll last forever with the way it's driven. Rotors and pads are at least 75% full of life if not more. 5. Only selling (and contemplating selling) because I'm having an Exotruck built and I recently bought an 818, so thinking of getting a more 'boring' daily. 6. I would drive across the country no issue.... the AC being the only concern for that right now. 7. The guy I got it from was an OCD mechanic and had purchased the car after it had been professionally rebuilt by a company in Wyoming I think he said. It had some rear end damage but no frame damage and it's never been an issue at all. I saw how he took care of it and realized if it wasn't an issue for him, it wouldn't be an issue for me. He was only selling because of a surprise 3rd kid being on the way. 8. Never smoked in! I can't handle that smell and I've never smoked in my life, nor would ever let anyone do so in the car. Thanks Jeff! Quote:

Surprised.
Hello again.
I thought for sure with how few cars seem to be getting listed on Nasioc these days, that this thing would have had a lot more questions by now, and likely be sold. I recently sold a completely unnecessary car, and have a bit of an empty garage syndrome. I have always liked hatchbacks, and struggle to fathom why anyone would prefer a sedan for any kind of utilitarian use. But America seems to disagree w/ me, so I'm clearly wrong. I have to admit that I'm trying harder to talk myself out of your car than I am to talk myself into it... But I am interested, whether I want myself to be or not. Please know all of this as you decide whether to answer my questions or not, although the answers can only serve to benefit other potential buyers as well. What needs to be fixed about the A/F gauge? Any progress on that fuel pump connector or A/C? I think because it doesn't have a sunroof it also doesn't have heated seats, right? What fuel do you regularly use? What were your tuning goals and achievements with the car? What compels a person to make all these modifications to then baby a car? From someone who has had several aftermarket ecu's in their past cars: any cold starting oddities, idling irregularities, or things you'd like to see improved about the tune? Do you have one key/key fob, or 2? Any dash lights or reason it wouldn't pass a state inspection? Our state (VT), plugs the car into a computer that talks right to the DMV's computer, and reads all the factory ecu's settings to convince them it's not breaking any rules. I had to sell one car w/ an aftermarket ecu to escape that trap when it was initially set a couple of years ago. Thanks again, Jeff |

Hi Jeff! Let me see if I can answer these... I apologize for the delay, but divorce and teaching stuff (I'm a middle school science teacher) has been a bit crazy recently!
A/F gauge: not sure honestly. The gauge never worked properly and my mechanic thinks it's probably a sensor issue. It never bothered me since I could get A/F from the Accessport but the gauge is wired up and lights up, just doesn't seem to read properly and then often goes to an error message quickly. Fuel pump issue will be solved this week with a new assembly. Was just a connector issue. AC hasn't been diagnosed yet as I've been too busy with some other car projects. Heated seats work great! No sunroof though as you mentioned but it's got the front heated seats. I usually run 93 octane with some e85 mixed in if I'm near one of the 2 places that sells it nearby. Usually either full pump gas or up to about e50. Goals: Daily driver that could scoot when needed/wanted. Tuned conservatively by Josh Dank and I often send him logs to make sure everything looks good. Was going to autocross again but haven't had the chance, but that's why I went with FP Blue (versus bigger power) as they said the others would be too laggy for autox. I take really good care of all my cars and never beat on them. I'm a physics major and I like to build them up to handle way more than I'll ever give them, but like to know they are capable of much more. I get my wild driving out on my autocrosses, and drive like a grandma on the street. I usually have my young kid in the car and I also recently got a Factory Five 818, so I have other toys to try and be stupid in if needed. Stock ECU so no issues at all with startup or emissions or inspection. I have 1 key fob, but might have another one somewhere. Haven't checked in a few years Hope that helps! I'm happy to answer any questions any time! Quote:

AC will be fixed tomorrow. Car runs great and I found a Forester STi so this one needs to go. I can have it shipped anywhere in the country.
