Ej20k heads converted to solid buckets with supertech valves and dual springs. Chambers are also modded to ej257 design by Larry's Power in Connecticut. Sorry for the pic whoring, I'm just so relieved to be driving it again.

Been driving it over a week now, no problems so far. Just have to lower the oil pump size.

so someone wrote off my 96 gf8 and now imm shopping for a new car. looking at a 95 sti and a 95 sti ra. am I right in saying that both of these have ej20g with a closed deck and cast internals? and despite what everyone says about the ej20k, would it be worth jumping up to a 97 for the forged internals?

The ej20k engines with forged internals are more rare, I believe they have to be sti. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Update: My ej257k hybrid is still running strong. I've been running on the powerfc untuned on the ej20k untuned map since assembly. I also installed a Perring AOS to catch blow by oil and it does a great job. I am waiting on a Steamspeed Stx 20g r turbo and also for my Killer B header to arrive, then I can install my larger injectors and FINALLY go get tuned

I totally want to hear how the tune goes with your Steamspeed STX 20g-r. I heard that Harvey at TheBoostCreep was really impressed with the turbo even though he had to perform a dialed-back tune because the customer's engine wasn't built. Still, at something like a mile high in elevation, it pulled 375whp with a nice torque curve.

I hope you'll let us know how the tune turns out for you! It sounds like its going to be a beast with that Killer B header. When do you think you'll have it all put together and tuned?

Me too, now I'm just waiting on the Killer B header which is taking longer than expected. I've been driving around with header and up pipe leaks and it sounds and runs weak. I'm at sea level and have 93 octane everywhere so I'm hoping for 400whp but who knows. Corr Performance in New Orleans is tuning it, they are the only ones within a reasonable distance that aren't afraid to tune my Power FC. They also travel back and forth to P.R. a lot to tune vehicles.

I'm having the same issue with tuners not willing to tune my power FC. I'm about to order an FC datalogit though! Any one else bought their own datalogit? Looks way to install, and it should be able to be tuned by anyone

I do. It's a fairly easy program to use once you figure out what everything does.

Does anyone know the latency values for the EJ20k OR15 Yellow top 480cc injectors? I have put a set in my EJ20G but don't have this data for tuning purposes. They replaced the grey top 380cc P1 injectors.

I looked around but the only thing I could find was this post here:

https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2523792

2Slo4U suggested the best place to find the values would be backtracking information in the Power FC for that model year.'

For this reason it might be best to just go with with phase 2 side feeds and get adapters (robtune sells some nice ones for $100).

I recently flow tested my EJ20K yellow tops at Injector RX and they flowed 515 cc... different than anything I have read, but I have never seen anyone who actually flow tested them either.

Marnix is a very knowledgeable dude, he's such a value to the forums and has contributed so much to this and other forums.

I still have the side feed adapters for mine, would be a good idea to get new o rings for safety if anyone needs them. The 1000cc injectors I ran can be sold with them as well of course. Don't forget I have a powerfc too! lol

But yeah, finding the latency values was tough. Hopefully any helpful information I found was shared, lots of times we all forget to post it for posterity. A lot of it is on the UK forums and it's really spotty at best, just like here where people post some of it and the threads die with few to no responses.

I ended up getting a response from the supplier and the injectors worked well after the tune.

You are right. The WRX didn't have forged internals and neither did the"ej20g" that was really a ej20k offered in the forester. Also good to hear!
