If my IAM dropped will it rise without a reset?
I'm getting weird low rpm low load knock but the IAM usually stayed at 16. Today it dropped to 8. Will my ecu now enter fine correction and populate the flkc table and slowly increase flkc values resulting in the iam increasing and repeating the process until it's back to 16 assuming I'm not getting tons of knock when it has positive flkc values?
It's a jdm vehicle and no e tuners will return my emails after asking to get a etune for Canadian gas and I've been running 94 octane but I'm starting to suspect the fuel quality might be bad. My other option is v power 91 but i don't know if a jdm ej205 will run properly on 91 without a e tune due to the nature of the factory Japanese tune. Car has zero mods, fuel learn sits between 1.6 and 7 and fluctuates in that area.

If the knocking decreases it will raise the IAM back up. If the knocking wasn't there before it may be false knock caused by something like a loose heat shield on the exhaust or turbo, loose or missing bolt on a bracket or bolt/rock/tool laying on top of the motor and bouncing around.
Do you have romraider or ecuflash ? Is that how you plan have been flashing it ? Can you read the learned values table on romraider ? You can edit the timing tables pretty easily to reduce timing at the same locations as the learned values table, that will be a good start. Then drive and log it, then in a few days recheck the tables. |

I have been using BtSsm unfortunately so it allows me to monitor but not change. I'm planing on ordering a tactrix cable though so i can get an e tune to deal with the knock.

Try some more 94 from a different source and try this: monitor IAM while left foot breaking and accelerating, holding the car to around 2500-2800 rpm for 10 or so seconds. Does the IAM creep back up? I've done that before to speed up IAM learning.
