I'm having similar problems. I'm an 05 9-2X bought new. Added up, dp, IC hoses, 1 turn on the wastegate and AP v1 stage 2 93 oct tune (stage 1 91 oct base map). Everything was done a long time ago and it was boosting to 14.5 psi which is still low. I replaced the IC hoses and found the bolts to the IC had loosened and was presumably leaking and thought I figured the problem out. I never rechecked boost but it felt stronger. Lately it has been feeling slower so I checked boost again today and I'm hitting 12 psi in 1st, 13 psi in 2nd and 14 psi in 3&4. I don't hear any vacuum leaks nor does it sound like the uppipe is leaking. I'm kind of at a loss. I guess my troubleshooting plan, in order, is as follows:
- double check all IC and vacuum lines (especially IC) - Upload stage 2 93 oct. base map - Upload stage 2 93 oct. HWG real time map - Add another turn to the wastegate arm Before I update the base map and turn the wastegate arm, should I reset the ECU back to stock or reset it? Also, if none of the above works, what should I look at next? mumbles-wrx - I don't meant to hijack your post but I figure it is possible we are having the same problem so I thought I'd post in your thread rather than creating my own. |

OP sounds like lack of restrictor pill/pill in the wrong place.

I was reading boost off the accessport. I don't have a gauge. I checked the vacuum line with the pill in it yesterday and the line appears fine and the pill is there. I didn't pull anything apart to check internally but I'm the original owner of the car and I didn't change it so unless something happened when I had the intercooler off it should be in the same position it was in when I got the car. I do have one full turn of adjustment on the wastegate arm. I may turn it another turn or two tonight and see what it does since it only takes a couple of minutes.
As for my accessport, I have one of the older style ones that will only show you what base map is installed. It won't show me the real time map. |

When I started tuning my own car, I found to hit target pressures I had to put almost 3 turns on my wastegate arm to make any difference. I would turn it 2 turns at a time till you over boost, then back it off 1/2 to 1 turn. wherever you like most.

I finally played around with mine today. The only thing I did was turn the wastegate arm another 2 full (360*) turns. That seemed to cure my ills. I'm now hitting 13.5 psi in first, 15+ in second and low 16's in third and fourth. And that is on a nice, cold 25* day. I'd say I'm good now.
