It's basically Fallout 4 with a green bebbe.
The show does feel a bit like watching a video game, with a main task hindered by side quests. I don't mind it necessarily, but it makes it harder for me to pick up on what will be significant and tie back in later, and what is just entertaining filler material.

Season 2 Mando is better than most of anything star wars has done. Still got to nail the final three episodes.

How do we think the series will end? I mean, as far as we've been shown ... Grogu isn't a thing. Will he go into hiding in the series finale? Will he die? NOOOO! Yes, I know The Child wan't even a glimmer of an idea when the films came out but still ... it will have to make sense. My guess is the series will end about the same time the first glimmer of a First Order comes about (though that's like decades later I believe) and Grogu goes into hiding.

On an unrelated note, I'm on S1 of Clones and just saw the episodes where Dooku, Ani, and Obi were captured by pirates. Seeing those three tied together, working as one, was surreal and fantastic.

This season will end with a light saber battle to recover the dark saber and then introduction of Admiral Thrawn. Not sure about the series.

Y'all need to separate the words "season" and "series." I know the Brits like to call seasons "series" but in Freedom Units, a season is a season and a series is the whole run of a show, all the seasons together.

Can there be Mandalorian without Grogu? I don't know. I would have thought so, but now I'm not so sure.

Also, Michael Biehn as the old soldier this week... I thought I recognized him, then I wasn't so sure, then it turned out it WAS him. ****er got old. What's with his teeth?

Also also, was this filmed during COVID times? ****ing clever if so. They can put ALMOST all of the cast in masks for most of the filming, with only a few unmasked folks getting close to each other on camera.

I def meant how will the series end. I'm no Brit. Seeing Thrawn at the end of the season would be cool ... but they better do a great job with the blue.

Trivia: The magistrate is played by the daughter of Dan Inosanto.

Who? Think Bruce Lee connection.

I didn't recognize him at first, initially thinking he was someone else, then was only about 80% sure it was him. I still didn't know for sure until the credits rolled. Nice to see him in this but he was a bit wasted. Between The Terminator and Aliens alone the dude's practically sci-fi royalty. Nice to see him regardless.

I assumed Ahsoka didn't take baby-yoda because Yoda's past and her future. She is seeking out those that would do him harm.

I recognized his ass right away. I was like, "Hey that's Reese from Terminator." My wife was like, "Whatever bitch. I'm only here cuz we married."

Also, ingenius way to film if this really was filmed after/during Covid. I never noticed a difference othern than the HK units were useless.

#notmyHKs.

Yoda was like 800 years old.

Grogu was 55. She’d never see him grow up.

It's his name.

We can see Din is having trouble adjusting to that, the same way we are. But that's his name.

Goddammit, after this Ep, I'm now gonna have to watch ALL of the Clone Wars & Rebels .

Loved how this Ep mashed up both a space Western & space Samurai film.

It's been said, but just put Clone Wars on in the background. It starts off slow but it gets there.

Definitely delayed, but I remember some expressing how they were impressed with the visual effects this season, especially in Episode 1. Since the pandemic began I've posited that special effects could improve with VFX artists having more time to refine the shots. Obviously there are multiple issues with working on IP remotely, but this article from May pretty much confirmed it to me.

Industrial Light & Magic is up and running at all five studios (San Francisco, London, Vancouver, Singapore, and Sydney), secure and delivering work as remotely as much as possible on 10 projects (including “The Mandalorian” Season 2, “A Quiet Place: Part II,” “No Time to Die,” “Jungle Cruise,” “Black Widow,” and “Space Jam 2”).
Looking for some good out of the bad, I've mostly been looking forward to 2021 because delayed projects have hopefully been given more time and care to be fully realized. Especially where Black Widow is concerned as the effects I saw in the trailers felt about 88% completed.

I'm REALLY enjoying the visuals this season. It has the richness of what Rian Johnson brought to SW, but without all of the controversy.

Agreed on Clones its for kids seasons 1-4 hard to watch even if you figure out how to do it in order and 100% laundry folding background show. I gave up my first try watched rebels and then finished Clones after Mandalorian season 1.

The last seasons of Clones with Mandalorian stories and Asoka is where the characters develop but because the character are introduced in seasons 1 through 4 they are necessary to watch.

Rebels was good beginning to end maybe a few dude episodes or a few things where the story jumps.

Disney one day should just start a new show the goes through the whole timeline skipping the cringe parts. It might take like 20 seasons at this point to get to episode IX.

The non-plot-contributory episodes of Clone Wars were nice when I rewatched Ep I-III. So many of them were just to give a little backstory to this or that alien living in the background of the shot, and I appreciated that.

Hayden and Natalie still were awful in those movies, though, and Ewan got fat by Ep II.
