Should have been a strip/sack/fumble or interception...

yet somehow they ruled it incomplete?!

even though it didn't hit the ground, a defender caught it?!

wtf is that ****

They have to say that now. KC was allowed to kick a punt. After the next play happens, no backsies.

NFL stresses new COVID-19 protocols in memo; violations causing schedule adjustments could result in forfeiture of games

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo to all 32 clubs on Monday regarding COVID-19 protocol compliance, and in it introduced new measures for increased safety and repercussions if they are not followed.

The league is again stressing the importance of following protocol to ensure the season can continue as scheduled with minimal contraction of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. For the first time, the NFL is also threatening forfeiture of games if a team cannot participate due to COVID-19 spread coming as a result of not following protocol.

"Protocol violations that result in virus spread requiring adjustments to the schedule or otherwise impacting other teams will result in additional financial and competitive discipline, including the adjustment or loss of draft choices or even the forfeit of a game," Goodell stated in the Monday memo, obtained by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

In the prior weeks, the league focused on adherence to the league's protective personal equipment and social distancing policies, threatening fines and forfeiture of draft picks for repeat offenders after multiple coaches had been seen failing to wear proper facial coverings on the sidelines during games. The threat of forfeiture, though, is a step up in seriousness.

The memo comes after the outbreak within the Tennessee Titans organization, which resulted in the rescheduling of their Week 4 game against Pittsburgh and forced rescheduling of the Steelers' game against the Ravens. Positive tests in New England -- star quarterback ***65279;Cam Newton***65279; -- and Kansas City -- practice squad QB ***65279;Jordan Ta'amu***65279;-- forced the league to postpone the Patriots' game against the Chiefs from Sunday to Monday night.

In response, the league has changed its protocols, requiring a longer on-boarding process for free-agent tryouts, banning gatherings outside of the club facility, limiting the number of tryouts permitted per week and implementing a league-wide video monitoring system to ensure compliance.

Goodell touted the effectiveness of the league's rigorous protocols, calling the league's testing regimen "the most comprehensive of any sport or business" and pointing to its effectiveness during the league's preseason activities. However, Goodell said, it is on the league's participants to implement them diligently and "simply put, compliance is mandatory."

"The protocols do not implement themselves, however, and our progress thus far cannot lead us to complacency," the Commissioner wrote. "Complacency is our shared opponent. We must reinforce our commitment to full adherence to our mandatory safety protocols and best practices.

"The consequences of rescheduling or even missing games are obvious. Our fans will be deprived of games. Competitive inequities will be introduced into our season. Players will not be paid for games not played and clubs will similarly suffer financial consequences."

Packers get a wide open pass for a touchdown first time around since the Falcons secondary sucks.

Next time around 1st and goal, let's run it 4 times.

That run game was gashing the Falcons.

Though, it was pretty evident what they were trying to do. Need to trust your backups to make plays.

Thanks Vectors.

I can’t see them forfeiting any games that actually have a chance to be played due to revenue. Draft picks are sort of “free” punishment or at minimum very difficult to put a financial number on.

I think it's quite possible especially if the team has already had a bye and suffers a Covid breakout.

I'm pretty sure the Titans broke protocol on this which is why they are pissed.

Oh I didn’t read much about that.

I was suspecting they might just give a 2-3wk gap before playoffs for makeup games.

That's real tough - I doubt they do that.

but there has been rumblings about the Titans failing to follow the contact tracing and player monitoring which allowed it to get so out of hand.

Both kickers, one veteran one child miss extra points!

Packers need to answer now or this game could become scary.

He's not getting fired yet. No one expected them to beat the Packers this week. Their next 5 games before the bye are against not great teams, if they don't win at least 4 of those he's gone during the bye.

"Robert Tonyan currently ranks higher in scoring offense than the New York Giants"

This didn't age well. But that pick 6 changed NE's momentum

Surely didn't. That was posted halfway into the 3rd with the score 6-3 KC with Hoyer at QB and Rex Burkhead leading the running game. Again...against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Then I posted twenty minutes later as it all fell apart, which, of course it finally did. And it still was pretty amazing how long they held on given what they have at their disposal.

I think it aged perfectly well. You can't fault idiots for idioting.

Edelman pick 6 ruined it. Shoddy O-line work made it terrible. This was a perfectly winnable game.

Romo brought this up as well.
