I love when this argument is made everytime there's a big trade in any pro sport.

There's no rule on the book that says "X level of talent requires Xth round draft pick"

There's a million things that can change the perceived value of a player beside talent and age.

Cutler was already building his "Don't Care Bear" reputation while in Denver and he wanted out.

McDaniels was a terrible coach and a worse GM.

There wasn't nearly the "ERMAHGHAD! MUST HAVE!!1!" response from the other 31 teams, like with this trade.

Besides, it all worked out as Denver got their future franchise QB by shuffling around some of those picks in the next draft

They didn't get much for Brandon Marshall either because he was acting like a child to get of Denver the following year.

Marshall went to Chi for two 3rds. Funny thing is, I remember offering that trade to others at that time and people here said and I quote, "You're out of your ****ing mind if you think I'd trade you Marshall for two 3rds."

Say what you will, but this trade goes to show that either LA doesn't know how to properly value draft capital, or they're so desperate for an upgrade at QB because they think they are a QB away from a SuperBowl. And if I must, with McVay, I think they have a good shot.

...and Pittsburgh got a third and a fifth for arguably one of the best WRs in the league

... and Oakland found him untradeable just a few months later.

Because said talented WR was also bat-**** insane

Rapaport and Schefter have both reported that the only reason Stafford is heading to LA and not Indy is because the Colts blinked at LA's counter offer. If it was only LA after Stafford, they would've landed him for much less.

If Bill offered anything at all he probably offered our long snapper and a bag of pretzels from the cafeteria vending machine.

And what has he done since then? He's on the most talent filled team in the league with the GOAT throwing him the ball and so far he's been nothing but a situational player. Don't forget that AB isn't the first elite player to 'crazy' his way out of the league but his case is special because of all the legal issues he got himself into and he is part of the "Social Medial" generation who don't know how to keep their damn mouths shut and forget that the internet is forever.

Cutler and Marshall avoided most of that because they played the most lucrative parts of their careers before Social Media.

The only thing I remember about RG3 in Washington is that hideous Subway sandwich bust they made of him. Not that one good year of play. Just the sandwich bust.

I must have missed the news that Tampa traded him to the Chiefs

What did they get for him?

I'm sure that had nothing to do with Matty Patty

The Rams $22.2M dead cap hit for Goff in 2021 will be the largest in NFL history.

Just topping Brandin Cooks dead cap hit of $21.8M in 2020... for the Los Angeles Rams

Which makes the 4th largest of all-time ($20.15M) look like a bargain in comparison. That was for Todd Gurley, also of the Los Angeles Rams

Someone should probably explain to Sean McVay that the "reset cap penalties" feature in Madden is not something that's available in real life

According to several reports, the Texans have passed along, to the rest of the league, their asking price for the player they have zero interest in trading:

Two Firsts
Two Seconds
A young starting quality DL

So true.

But I think him and Nagy are desperate enough to attempt it.

Why? They got their franchise QB in that same draft, even before Houston

Remember the last time a team gave up two 1st, a 3rd and a young QB? Yeah, Cutler remembers.
